I go through USB cables like anything, use them for PS4, tablets and all sorts - sure the kids eat them for breakfast - use code GBOFUK02 at checkout (make sure logged in)

Also works with the likes of Samsung Phones, HTC etc

Curry's have a 1m cable for 57p in their clearance section, they might have some stock in your local store:

Support the UK by buying from UK companies who employ UK staff.

P.S. When are hotukdeals.com going to make the official name change to hotchinadeals.com, seeing as hocking cheap chinese tat seems to be their main interested these days?

If there's an affiliate deal to be had they would trade us all up in return in an instant

Don't buy cheap Chinese cables, they break quickly and are generally just crap (also don't buy cheap cables in general)

HUKD are making enormous amounts of affiliate commissions from these Chinese companies, which helps to pay the salaries of the HUKD staff.

So, the more Chinese products you buy, the more HUKD staff get paid. It's a win:win for everyone

code has expired

Ordered one, thanks!
Code worked fine for me

Thank you.. got one

worked for me now . it had said code had expired for me originally

Hmmm, except HUKD is a Canadian company as far as I know.....

Jeez why the hate?! Lol do we not buy from UK companies all day everyday? Bought one and have some heat lol

Look Pepper Deals Ltd up on Companies House, it's a fine weave of people from the Seychelles to Australia to Germany. In fact, the main director since May has been someone who is also involved with quidco. And the amount of these guffy chinese deals have been increasing rapidly since May, no connection I'm sure...

The longer the cable is, the more time it takes to charge the device.

The longer the cable is, the more time it takes to charge the device.

Lmfao what? Is it because all the electron fairies have to run further in the longer cable?

Note: longer cable does not mean it takes longer to charge a device, don't be ridiculous. though a usb cable isn't advised to be over 5m, but that's mainly for data transfer speeds, not charging.

Cheers OP ordered one tried to order more than 1 but code only worked with purple & 1 only. Tried 2nd order & it said code expired must be single use per account But hey ones better than none

Although in general the difference is negligible, of course length can have an effect on output voltages reducing charge speed. More common an issue with cheap cables is that they simply can't take modern phone charger voltage at all, so your 2A or higher charger is limited to whatever the cable can deliver. Some of these cheap cables have been tested under 500mA. Length is much less of an issue, but I've seen a few tests, one in particular (that I can't find now) tested from 1 - 24ft and saw up to 50% drop.

To the best of my knowledge, no fairies were harmed in any of those tests

I totally agree with you - cheap cables can't take more than 500mA most the time..

and length is essentially a non-issue for the average joe, because as I said in my original comment, over 5m isn't recommended - but like when was the last time you even saw a 5m usb charging cable for sale? Don't go purposely looking for one now to prove a point! (24ft is around 7m I think)
