Was going to buy a top up for son and noticed the new terms on the website. Its a good deal for us as the rest of the family have three contracts and means he can phone us for free for 90 days with a £10 top up. He also gets a 150mb internet allowance free MSN free Skype all of which last 90days. You can get unlimited texts for a £25 top up but his thumbs aren't as quick as his sister so that would be overkill £5 gets you the other freebies with only 25 texts. Calls to other networks/landlines 20p a minute texts 10p. I know three generally gets a rough time on here but I have found them to be good for 3g coverage in my area and the back up 2g is quite good too. You get twice the number of texts free if you top up online.

Good Deal...

I have got the 3pay £15.00 a month, unlimited Texts, 300 minutes to anything and unlimited 3 to 3 phones calls plus the unlimited internet which is normally £5.00 for free also..

I have been on contract with 3 for 5 years and only switch to this 3 months ago... plus my other half also has the same deal...

Cheers

Rick

Have to agree this is pretty good for pay as you go, the fact the free texts last 3 months. My partner is on three so I may stick my contract onto this when its up in August.

Already posted.....

Three are rubbish! Don't bother! you WILL regret it!!

Good deal - voted hot. Shame 3 are crap.

Thanks x

You can top up only £5 online after the initial card registration of £10 apparently - making this even better!

Does anyone know if the allowences renew when you topup as the website insinuates that it does? I set one up yesterday and hope it does :-)

From the website
Even better news, your free stuff lasts for 90 days (unless you’ve used it up before that). And as soon as you top-up you’ll get it all again. Plus, you can still use the free stuff when you’ve run out of credit.
So yes the allowances do renew.

Yes what I ment was if I dont use all the credit first, but top up? :-)

believe so

Make sure you use the 150mb internet allowance up first before converting £5 credit to an 'internet' add-on. They don't stack in a queue so it uses your 150mb allowance even if you've purchased the internet add-on (wasting some or all of your 30 day limit depending on how long 150mb lasts you)

I just do not understand why is this post refering to the £10 deal while there is a £5 deal.
The difference is that you have a ridiculous amount of SMS's but for £5 for 90 days...that's £20 per year. three.co.uk/Pay…uff

Very good post anyway. Voted HOT.

that's a contract? this is payg

As far as I'm aware you don't even need to top up to continue using Skype. It's now free on all their tariffs regardless.

And 3 are fine. Just as good/bad as any other network. Been with them for 2+ years. People online just love to complain. Only thing I'll agree to (but this is true of many other networks too) is that the customer service line is almost useless. Best to drop into a store.

Is this avaliable with their free sims

yes. this offer started when they were giving out free sims which was over a month ago

I've got 1 week left before I need to give 30 days notice at the end of my 3 contract, does anyone know the best way to switch to 3pay when I do, thanks in advance

do you get your £10 topup aswell as the free things? or do they take the £10 off the phone for them?

To say 3 are rubbish is a bit of a sweeping statement. For some the service reception may not be perfect, but it can be like that with any mobile phone provider. I have been with 3 for around 4 years and have had consistently good coverage and service. The deals they seem to be offering lately are really great - much better than my contract : ( Check out the 3 service where you live then make a decision - MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE !!

this is a fantastic deal

Im with 3 and so is my missus and ive been with them all over the years. Yes 3's customer service is pants. But this kind of deal is unbeatable.

The missus is on 3 pay and just rings me so we now save a fortune. Im on the old tariff and put £25 on for 700 anytime minutes 3000 texts and 150mb of internet. NO ONE COMES near, price wise.

If you top up online with a debit card, you get double text allowance, meaning 600 texts for £10.

Their sims dont work in most phones they are a different type. Beware!

I top up £15 every 3 month and get 1000 text/calls to o2 numbers, and free Internet so it wouldn't benefit me. I don't know many people on 3, mostly o2.

Decent deal tho for those who know ppl on 3, so voted hot.

ring them and tell them you're giving 30 days' notice and you want the SIM converted to PAYG when the contract ends. it worked for me. just make sure on the day the contract is meant to end that you can't call anyone - when my sister did this she was somehow transferred onto another contract. it was sorted out quickly enough though.

also, just to clarify, if you get one of the free SIMs (easiest way is from a 3store) and then transfer a number over (can be any number, even one from another network's free SIMs), you will get £10 free credit (with no expiry) plus all the freebies for 90 days.

Would it be easy enough to move my current number (with Orange) to one of these free sims? I know you need a PAC but last time I transferred my number the women sorted it all out and I didn't have to do anything.

I've never liked 3 because they expire your credit after so long. I HATE THAT.

No, that's incorrect, a 3G sim works in phones even without 3G.

At least on O2 it does.

3's sims should work in any 3G phone as long as it's unlocked. If not, provide evidence.
The only thing they have which won't work on just "any" 3G phone is the free Skype because it's a customised version thus needs to be ported to different OSes.

call them now, tell them you want to leave, can they put you on 3pay in the meantime, they will do it as soon as your contract ends.
