Featuring the complete series of adventures with the alien family who just want to be like everyone else. Meet Tom, Dick, Harry and Sally. Your average family from middle America. They have an average car, an average home, and average friends, but Tom, Dick, Harry and Sally are far from average as they're aliens sent by the Big Giant Head to learn all that is learnable about Planet Earth. They start from scratch and try to blend in "behaving" as ordinary average Joes, however, their research is incomplete.

Dick (a college professor aka the High Commander) heads the family, with his 'sister' Sally (Security Officer and extreme hottie). There's his younger 'brother' Harry (Communications Officer and village idiot) and Dick's 'son' Tommy (eldest of the aliens and a high school junior). Between them they learn from their experiences and along the way show us the inconsistencies of human life in the funniest way. While you watch this genuinely funny US Import pay special attention to Harry. One classic moment for me was when Dick opened the closet and found Harry hanging on the back of the door in a straight jacket. They pause and regard each other and Harry says "I won't learn if you keep on letting me out!" Sally challenges our views of sexual stereo types through her relationship with Officer Don of the local PD, and Dick just continually fails to get humanity. Watch for fantastic cameos from William Shatner as the Big Giant Head and John Cleese as a visiting Alien. Buy this DVD box set. It *will* make you laugh and above all give you the reassuring feeling that while the aliens are out there, we're quite safe.

The trouble with these "Amazon Deals" is you never know if it is simply a good deal or one of Amazons frequent pricing errors which will invariably be cancelled the following day.

I have given up buying anything from Amazon now, even if it does look like a good deal, as the last 8 items I have bought have all been cancelled by them with the standard:

Despite our best efforts, with the millions of items available on our
website, pricing errors can occasionally occur.

along with a link to their T&C's

If that is a genuine price, then it is a good price, but I simply can't be bothered with Amazon anymore.

Depends on the popularity and severity of the misprice imho. This isn't going to appeal to all and it's not as much of an obvious misprice as those a while back.

This sounds about right to me guys, I had it from amazon for a similar price last year.

I do hate them when they don't honour their misprices though. I guess they'd be losing millions if they let evryone who orders have their boxsets for £17.99 though!

voted hot will give rep if it turns up

used my 2.50 off voucher from here too so thats 35.47 for them

fingers crossed, this is Dirty Pop good!

It's not so much the retailers that are the problem - it's the ********s on forums like this who order 50 of something with a view to ebaying them. It ruins it for everyone else.

Their assumption with Amazon seems to be that they're a big company so they can take a hit on multiple units. It happened with that SUPERMAN set a year-or-so ago which is when the bubble burst on Amazon "Hot deals" as they were.

perhaps if you didnt go for every 17.97 boxse which is worth 100 that is BLATANTLY a pricing error you wouldnt have that problem.

Sounds right to me too, Network DVD were knocking these out at around £30 last year or the year before too.

You have absolutely no idea what I buy from Amazon.

Just as an example, my previous purchase was an Nvidia 8800 graphics card at £169.99. This was about £15 cheaper than anywhere else, and they still cancelled it claiming it was a pricing error.

So don't assume you know everything, when you obviously don't.

I still say that this set, retailing at £130, reduced to £38 could just as easily be regarded as a pricing error. Amazon make the rules up as they go along, and customers have absolutely no idea whether something is a bargain price or a mis-price.

And I don't have this problem anymore because I don't bother with Amazon anymore.

It's fair to be dissapointed, but unless you got charged for something you never got, where is the harm? It's always worth a punt for anything that you actually want.

ok i take it back kevin, which 8800 series card was it? i take it was the 512mb GTS version? which was around 200 about a month ago?

what did amazon say as surely it wasnt posted on here and everybody bought it so should be kind of differnt ?

as said before, last year it was £30.49 from Amazon...
but I'd got my set earlier for under £30
