3TB external USB3 seems fantastic value especially if you include free delivery. Very good reviews.

Less per GB than some of the smaller HDD recently posted.

I have done a quick search and don't think this has been posted, if it has, sorry.

Look on camecamelcamel, it has been dropping in price consistently and is a genuine reduction.

Had got this deal before Christmas - again a great deal..
I promised myself one when they got to sub £100... Anyone know if this is USB powered or if you need an additional power source?

All current 3TB drives are 3.5" so will require external power.
Good price, ordered, thanks.
Got one for £80 a few weeks ago. Works well. Worth noting that it can be set to work with both mac & pc though Seagate does not say so.

Aren't all hdd's compatible with osx/windows? Just a case of formatting i thought.
I also got a couple of these before Christmas for 80 quid each from I want one of those which was a ridiculously good deal but this is still not bad and looks like the cheapest around at the he moment. No problems so far with the drives though it has only been a few weeks. Still the warranty is better than the equivalent internal drive.

On the Seagate website they list some of theirs as being compatible with both, and this one as only PC. I have an older WD World Book II that isn't compatible with Mac, so I thought I'd mention it in case some were put off by the Seagate website.

Bought one of these a few weeks ago.

Beware, it doesn't work with windows 7 backup and restore. You'd have to use other software like Norton Ghost etc.

Seems 3TB is a problem in some areas!

WD suffer a similar problem but did release a "fix" which may help
Excuse my ignorance, but isn't this a cheap way to get a 3TB internal drive?

Probably invalidates the warranty sadly

It worked with Windows 7 backup for me, but I found it soooo slow I changed to Paragon's free one

Loads still available at £92.04 from what looks to be a reputable seller on eBay. I wouldn't worry, though - just wait a bit, and the Amazon price will come back down again. Probably to less than the £90 mark.
I think it's best to pay £4 more and get the WD one on amazon. Both good deals! Some people prefer WD droves and have more faith in them. Only had 1 drove fail on me and it was a Hitachi
I'm guessing this is mains powered, as it's not mentioned in the posting that its portable ;-)
