Set in the north-east town of Las Caletillas, this hotel lines up a large pool, a handful of dining spots, and a healthy dose of sports and activities. It’s really close to Tenerife’s capital city, Santa Cruz, too.
The Catalonia Punta del Rey is in the town of Las Caletillas on Tenerife’s north-east coast. There’s a couple of black-sand beaches nearby, and Santa Cruz – the island’s capital – is a 15-minute drive away.
Outside, there's a pair of swimming pools, with one that's just for adults. Indoors you’ve got a pair of restaurants and good-sized bedrooms with air-conditioning and a balcony or terrace.

Pools
There's a freshwater swimming pool outside, which is sunk into a lounger-lined terrace complete with a waterside bar. You've got a separate pool and terrace that's just for adults, plus a pair of whirlpools, too.

Food & Drink
The buffet restaurant serves fresh fruit, oven-warm pastries and Spanish omelettes at breakfast, while at dinner you’ve got themed areas and show cooking. Snacks and light lunches are on the menu at the pool bar, while at the buffet you can expect things like burger and chips, pizza, and salad. You can also opt for an à la carte dinner at the Italian restaurant*.

Entertainment
The entertainment portfolio is pretty varied – you could be watching a flamenco performance or acrobatics show one night and listening to a live band the next.

Sports & Activities
Padel and pétanque courts are up for grabs, as well as tables for pool and ping pong.

Health & Beauty

There’s a small gym, sauna* and beauty salon inside, plus you can book in for a massage* if you fancy.

Facility Summary

As well as a couple of swimming pools, this hotel lines up sports including padel. There’s a handful of dining spots, too – a buffet place, an Italian, and a poolside bar with a buffet section that dishes up quick bites like chips, salads and hot dogs.

Rooms
All rooms have air-conditioning, a shower in bath, 1 extra single bed, a TV, free Wi-Fi, plus a balcony. You can opt for a premium twinroom for even more extras – a safety deposit box, bathrobes and slippers, plus tea or coffee-making facilities. You'll also be entitled to a special price dinner, with tasting menu, at La Toscana.

stayed here last summer. Hotel does get large groups of teenagers on international sports trips. We had a group of almost 200 during our stay. They do invade the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal but then disappear off on the sports during the daytime, but hang around the hotel in large groups in the evenings running around room to room on floors gemerally a bit of a nuiciance. Food only average, bread baskets crawling with flies during the warm weather and the eating area feels like a canteen. Pool area nice and 30 min walk down on front is nice promenade area otherwise not much around as resort is out of the way. Even at this price I would not return. I don't think this hotel deserves the 4* rating.

This hotel is in the cold part of the island, but the food is really good

It's only 300miles from the Sahara desert so it can't be that cold...can it?
