Various, but mostly South American countries such as Peru/Mexico, and I've seem the from Israel a few times too. Sometimes, although less often, Spain.

In the US supermarkets virtually no veg or fruit is wrapped in any kind of plastic, here its pretty much every product.
Odds are, these have been shipped in via cargo ship which is far more eco-friendly than flying them in. If that makes people a little more happier about it.
