These pies are best eaten with mashed (rather than roast )spuds I reckon :-D

I wonder if Heather Mills will stock up on these for her new Vegan cafe

I hope people are aware that vegetables are routinely separated from their families, skinned alive, beheaded and then boiled, in the making of these pies. Just because they don't have mouths doesn't mean they don't scream.

Yum!

Hot.

Not being sentient or having a nervous system takes care of that though.

Here we go again. Keep electrocuting cows, and chopping the heads off chickens. I'm sure that makes you very happy.

these pies are horrible, the fat content is massive, when you cook them for the recommended time and take them out of the foil case the fat is running out of them, I sent mine back and complained they are digusting!! the pastry is just a mass of fatty stodgy grey mush!

fat dripping out of them haha, ure talking utter rubbish, they are damn nice and a bargain. Even if the fat content is massive, intelligent beings are not being slaughtered for personal satisfaction, and being underweight rather than over im happy with that.

Hope they're better than her Country Pies which were on offer at Tesco a while back.
They were vile!

the problem with these are that, even though she dies years back she still decides to change the recipe on time to time, they are ok at the moment but i hate companies messing about with my food.

Bought some of these for my veggie daughter a while ago - she said they were very unpleasant. Good price though if you like them.

I'm not sure which is sadder....the fact that you make a pathetic and irrelevant link between McArtney's 2 ex wives..... or that you read the type of rag that would "inform" you of the absolute non - news that Heather Mills is allegedly opening a vegan restaurant....

Anyway....wouldn't Mills' grouse ( excuse the pun ) be with Mr. M rather than his late missus who was a veggie same as Mills???????????????

Horrible things, never understood why they try so hard to make these vegetarian options look like the meat based products...

Maybe theres a market for 100% beef shaped nut cutlets?

Not a big fan of pies but the lasagne is yummy! hot

Well... if a product already exists and people except the shape, y change it? It also means that vegetarians can eat alongside meat eaters for instance at a BBQ, veggies can BBQ there sausages and can use the same hot dog buns that meat eaters use (different shape veggie option means different shape bread?).

Thats my opinion neways... :whistling:

good price!

This argument that 'I don't understand why they make vegetarian food look like meals that have meat in' is so f'ing stupid.

Ok, when was the last time you saw a pig made up of cylindrical sausages? How about a cow comprised of pasties? Ooh mummy, look at that chicken, its like a nugget with wings!

There is no monopoly on certain shapes of foodstuff having to have dead animal in them. Did I miss an 11th commandment?

Sausages, pies, pasties, rolls, are all man made constructs to hold food. It doesn't have to be meat. They are mere vessels to present food in a convenient manner. Just because a vegetarian decides not to eat meat does not mean they have to throw out every other convention including shape and portion size. We do not do it because we are secretly salivating over meat. We do it out of convenience.

Now you have the exception. There are cuts of meat that vegetarians try and replicate, like bacon for instance. So the argument would have more weight there. But, even bacon is a modification of the meat as it fits on the pig. The rashers do not peel off individually, they have to be cut and shaped in a way that is convenient and pleasing to the eater. What is wrong with making the shape of food palatable?

My next book will be 'Beef crisps: why do they try and make them taste like beef when they have no meat in them?'

Good deal, love these with my veggie gravy too. Sorry meat eating death mongers.
