About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

As you may know EA Play will join Game Pass in November. Microsoft is doing a conversion of any remaining time on the EA service to Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:1. So you can currently subsribe to EA Play and come November a 12 month subscription will convert to 4 months of GPU which makes a month worth 5 quid. I think that's an excellent price.
You might be able to stack more years through bying codes from CDKeys and the like but I'm not 100% sure if there is an upper limit to the conversion (aside from the max 3 years Ultimate). There's more info at the link.

Only if you've never had games pass ultimate before.
Already did that last year. One time deal so it's not applicable to many people. (edited)
I think it works as long as your sub has run out.
It's worked for lots of people as long as they let their subscription end first (mine ended last week and xbox.com is offering me the £1 deal now)
£6.46 for the year if you use the Turkish site (edited)
Thanks for that, £13.84, did not know no VPN was needed for hungary store.
this only turns into 3 months of ultimate if you also own game pass ultimate. Otherwise your EA play sub remains untouched. (edited)
Just to confirm on this, found this posted by the Xbox UK Marketing Lead on Twitter so thinking prepaid and 3 years will convert fine!
Surely a code purchased counts in the same way? There's one at shopto for 16.85. I read the faq and it seems to say that any remaining time works in the same way. I hope so, will find out on November 10th!
If you’ve purchased both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play through the Microsoft Store when the EA Play member benefit unlocks for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, your EA Play subscription will be canceled, and any remaining time over 50 days will be rounded up and converted to the nearest month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a ratio of three to one.
For example: If you have between 50 days and 3 months of EA Play already on your account when EA Play comes to Ultimate, you’ll have 1 month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate added to your account. If you have between 4 and 6 months of EA Play already on your account when EA Play comes to Ultimate, you’ll have 2 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate added to your account.

Xbox’s Larry Hryb explained on Twitter that players who purchased EA Play through the store (not through pre-paid cards), will have their memberships cancelled. The remaining balance – so long as it’s over 50 days – will be rounded up and converted to the nearest month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This works on a 3:1 ration.
I think its not worth purchasing as its not clear, maybe someone has more clarification but its guess work atm (edited)
Didn't see the FAQ, clears up any ambiguity then.
Thanks, will do that, my Ultimate don't end till 2022, but extra 4 mths for £20 is worth it
This is the way.
What I'd really like to know is whether 4 months is the max limit of conversion, or you could get 12 months for stacking 3 years of EA Play. (edited)
Dont change country, put in your actual street and city, then a random Hungarian post code (I used 3589). Worked fine
Game Pass for console is all you need if all you want is to be able to access the normal library of GP games on the Xbox One/Series S/Series X. You will also need Xbox Live Gold if they want to play games online with/against other people. However with this method you wont get these extra EA Access games and buying this deal wont get converted to extra time. If all you want is for them to play online without the GP library of games you can just get Xbox Live Gold on its own.
Game Pass Ultimate rolls it all into one, so you get Game Pass for Console/Game Pass for PC/Xbox Live Gold/Xcloud streaming(Android)/EA Access( on Nov 10th)
Didn't know you could do this so I went ahead and bought a total of three years EA Play from Hungarian store The key was to disable automatic payment on account.microsoft.com for EA Play. (edited)
Genius. Thanks
Thanks for the share. I did initially try it via the turkey gift card route but wouldnt work but now I am loaded up with 3 years worth of ea play which will convert to 12 months Ultimate for just short of £42 (£3.50 a month). Bargain!!
An update, I logged a case with MS today via phone. Because i was a day 1 GPU converter, added extra GPU (3 month codes) Dec 2019 to my account and had EA Play on top. The system just fell over basically. I took a picture on the day of when I added my EA Play (2 years worth) but it only shown 1 year under my account. I purchased 1 on the Microsoft store, then it stops you from purchasing more. So I purchased a second from Amazon, redeemed against my account. The code redemption was visible but the whole subscription was screwed. Long story short. They manually added my EA Play 2 years on to my account which means my GPU now expires in Aug 2023 instead of Dec 2022. Great support and fast turn around! (edited)
13 months (12 gold + 1GPU) or 14 months if you enable recurring billing
Aight well mine ends in two weeks, guess I'll find out then
Maybe he was trying to say as long as EA Play is redeemed on Xbox not Playstation. I don't think prepaid card or buying direct would make a difference. (edited)
That's not very clear. It might not mean prepaid cards but that you should not have subscribed for EA Play from here - ea.com/ea-…lay
Anyway, you can actually extend from the MS website by following the link again.I extended with another 12 months.
Good idea but I guess it should be done without an active subsription. I tried to buy another year and it errors out - "PUR-ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch. You currently have a subscription in another region. If it still does not work, please contact customer service." (edited)
It's definitely not clear enough to risk it, but 'purchased through Xbox' could just mean only for EA Play memberships for Xbox, not PlayStation. Unlikely but possible.
Guessing you'll need to just add a Hungarian address to your account for this?
Purchased for myself and all my 19 kids.
Saves me allot in the long run.
