Me again!

Budapest is one of my favourite cities and I have found a great 4 night deal for £110.50pp in a top rated aparthotel in the city centre. The flights are direct from Glasgow to Budapest. You will leave on the Monday morning so you will get the afternoon and evening in Budapest. The return flight is in the morning of Friday 6th so this is a travel day rather than holiday. This means you will have 3.5 days in the great city of Budapest.

The hotel is an aparthotel called Avantgarde Apartments in the 7th district where the bars and restaurants are located. The apartment has a kitchen - not that you will need it as eating out over there is cheap and the food is incredible.

For things to do in Budapest - well where do I begin. I spent 4 nights here and still left with things I didn't manage to do. The obvious thing to do is to indulge in the thermal baths. Going over to the castle district, seeing parliament, spending an afternoon on Margaret Island, sailing down the Danube, drinking in the ruins bars, hiking Gelart Hill. The list is endless.

The flights are with Wizzair, direct from Glasgow, and can be booked through Skyscanner here.

Flights are £39pp return.

The aparthotel is through Booking.com and can be booked through here.

Aparthotel is £143 (£71.50pp) for 4 nights.

Total price per person based on 2 sharing is - £110.50 - BARGAIN

Please note - Prices are correct at time of posting and flights/accommodation is limited availability.

Heading there this weekend - if you're not afraid to book a hostel, they are absolutely dirt cheap Budapest!
Good price but return flight leaves budapest 6:10am, Christ, you'd need to be up at like 3am.

If you want a better timed flight then it’ll cost more! That’s the whole point.
I was just looking for something like this last night but would need either Manchester ,Leeds or Liverpool airport ?
Great price
I'd love to go but need Birmingham flights.
Price bumps up once you add luggage, can you get away with a mini case on board one of these flights?

Always wanted to go to Budapest, this looks good and Glasgow is ideal for us.

Yes you can take a hand luggage case which is up to 10kg. Me and my mrs have never needed more than that for a city break.
Going there for a couple of nights in Feb, can’t wait.

I know that, I know how flights work. Just letting people know that early return flight as for most folk it's a deal breaker. If you'd mentioned flight times in your post I wouldnt have commented.

You can take hand luggage up to 10kg but not for this price, this price is a small bag only I.e. womans handbag or small rucksack with dimensions 40cm x 30cm x 20cm. If you want anything more than that like cabin case up to 10kg, it's nearly double the cost.

If you re-read the post, it clearly says the Friday is a travel day rather than holiday.

Got the Blue Monday feeling or just fell out the wrong side of the bed today? Great find OP - heat added.
Looking at booking here for a stag. What prices we looking at on the beer
£141 for singles or your own room
this is a really hot deal. Budapest is a lovely place to visit. Hotel for 155 quid and I found Gatwick to Buda return at socialable hours for 40 quid pp - add to that a cheap miniBUD minibus service to the hotel and back again (if you book it at the airport they will arrange pick up from close to the hotel back to the airport)

Around a quid a pint when I was there, but that was 2 years ago. Can’t see it being much more though.

Enjoy! I loved Budapest and will definitely go back. I was surprised at how forward thinking the people were. Not sure why but I expected it to be a bit behind!

Up and coming? Budapest is a major historical European capital and as part of the former Austro-Hungarian empire a sophisticated centre of excellence for the arts, gastronomy and scientific discovery through the ages. It has been no stranger to tourism in this century, the previous one or the one before that boasting world famous architecture, culture and spa baths barely 2 hours from Vienna on the Danube. Even during the Soviet era the city and Lake Balaton just outside were major tourist destinations.

The Magyars are a highly intelligent and resourceful people who have endured enormous hardship down the years yet still given the world it's most beautiful city at night, some of the greatest minds and it has to be said some fantastic wines. Go and enjoy their city but whatever you do, don't get on the wrong side of them.
Booked, thanks Op. Always fancied Budapest. Different hotel though and paid the hotel with my Tesco Clubcard vouchers.
Went last week. Quality place!
As a Hungarian, I totally agree with the description, and this find was great. Heat added
We've totally fallen in love with Budapest, and ended up going 3 times in just over a year, and even then feel like we've only just scratched the surface with all the things to do there. It's a fantastic city for families, food and drink are cheap and the public transport is great so getting around is easy. We've got Hungarian friends so will certainly be back again soon too, and I've still got a big list of places we want to go and things to see.

On our last visit we hired a car and had a few days exploring Lake Balaton, which I would also whole-heatedly recommend if you've done Budapest a few times.

For any adrenaline junkies I can't recommend Red Jet enough if you fancy a a speed boat trip with a difference - 30 minutes of extreme stunts on the Danube! You will get absolutely soaked as they skim around at great speed taking you in mad 360 degree spins and plunging the front of the boat into the water. Our 10 year old daughter though this was the highlight of our visits (even better than the Pinball Museum and she's crazy about pinball)

But you can take up to 10kg for this price, your comment is misleading.

The bag dimensions are also superior to Ryanair, and both me and the missus just returned from 4 days in Poland using those smaller bags and managed to survive with everything we (she) needed.

correct you can, but you still can't take a cabin case, which is my point.
jonnybravo21/01/2020 11:45

Your point was "take hand luggage up to 10kg but not for this price" which you know is incorrect and misleading.

And wouldn't any case that was taken into the cabin then be a "Cabin Case" as you call it, whatever the dimensions?

You're just threadspoiling because your original unnecessary point was rightly pointed out by the OP to be stupid. Have a day off.

All booked!!! 30 of us 23rd to the 26th of October. As for the up and coming comment. You know what I was getting at. Some people need a day off so right. £350 pp on this one tho no special deals but really look for deals and book for 30, or can you
