Anyone care to comment on the quality of this item? Could be a bargain or a false economy.

Built in groundsheet always good to see.

No height is given for the tent. I got a 4 person one from Argos last year for a little less, but it's not quite tall enough to stand up in. If this is the same, then I would say false economy. If you can stand up in it? I'll be tempted to jump on that bandwagon myself!

Reasonable waterproofing

ive had this tent myself - poor design!

due to the two entrances there is a large area with no poles for the wind to catch. I got mine from Halfords a couple of years ago, i left it wrapped around the barbed wire fence it attached to after destroying itself

Ah yes, campers. Environmentally aware and considerate to others. Mostly.

The minimum HH you will find for a tent is 1500mm. If you are wanting something cheap and cheerful, then wait till the ones in Asda come out, as they are slightly cheaper, but have a much higher HH. I've got one at 3000 and one at 4000HH. Plenty good enough to keep us dry and snug! (with built in ground sheets too)

Thats nice of you to leave it for someone else to clear up.

You mean the minimum 'recommended' for the UK is 1500mm - you'll find stuff as low as 900mm on sale and some that don't even tell you.

My Outwell has 5000mm HH and is brilliant but I've also got a tent for wekends in the sun that's 2000mm and that's OK for most British summer weather.

I was talking to a mate about this tent earlier and he said a much better quality three man tent is the Vango Alpha 300 Dome Tent which can be picked up for well under £50 including delivery on Amazon and other places online. So anyone looking for a three man tent might want to look around for one of those. Just thought I'd mention it.

I've just found it here for only £24.99 plus postage but the "Add to Cart" function seems to be faulty or my pc is playing up... again!

There's an Alpha 400 too which is a bit bigger. The 2011 models are just out and have a 3000HH rating (as opposed to 2000HH for the 2010 and earlier models). I looked at getting one but settled on a Beta 450 which has more storage space.

I've emailed the company about the fault and sent them a screen grab of the error page, maybe they'll sort it out. I have a couple of family members who would like to buy the tent at that price.
