Originally £20, these are showing as 75% off in my local store (Swindon). Quite a few on the shelf. The brand on the packaging is Uni-Com. Probably in-store only.

fabulous price for these! I have a set (bought from Aldi) few years ago and they are great for lazy folk like me!!!

Bargain - heat added

Bargain!!!!!

nice one... heat added

Will take a look tm!

Are they IR or RF?

(I need some IR ones to go with a Harmony remote)

Anyone know what the signal is like on the remote - do you have to aim it directly at the socket or can you bounce it off walls etc if pointed in the general direction?

I'm thinking it could be useful to control various lamps in the lounge, but I'm wondering whether the sockets being hidden behind tables etc will be a problem?

Great deal but label FAIL! Implies they were £80 and are now £20! Doh!

Good deal - have some heat

Happy to be corrected but the photo of the offer reads as though the price is £20 for a pack of four after 75% has been deducted. If so, £5 per plug is about the going rate.

BTW got a set of these from Netto yonks ago and find them really useful to switch on and off 13 amp wall sockets not within easy arms reach.

did u actually buy these at £5 op. as buy the looks of the pic, they are now £20 after the 75% off.

Do these scan for £5 OP?, or are you saying £5 each / £20 for the pack?

i bought these for the same prize (£5) last year in wilkinson.they were not in offer the actual prize itself is £5. They worked fine for few months and stopped working. Even after i switch off the socket, my TV still goes on.

That's not how Wilkinson's does things, they go round sticking those 75% stickers on the labels already printed and it comes off at the till. Not, 'this is the 75% off figure'.

My parents have some of these and my Father has gone a bit control freak, he has actually taped up the switches on the lamps so that only he can control them, lol.

so they will scan at £5?? thats a good deal.

yes wilkos always put x% off stickers on top of the original price and it is deducted at the till, a confusing way if you ask me but after enquiring recently that's how they do things.

Glad people are so trusting - the sticker says 75% off marked price. You get 4 sockets for a fiver.

the packet does not state IR or RF. The remote does not have one of those little emitter bulbs like you get on a TV remote, so may be RF. It does have a red LED on the remote - I expect to show when a button is pressed.

Just a word of warning. Sometimes if you have these type of sockets near each other it can cause some to not function properly due to not picking up the signal. This might not be the case for all makes but was on the ones I got from Maplins.

Bargain!

They will be RF. The signal will usually travel through a wall and certainly from upstairs to downstairs through the floor/ceiling.

i have bought the asda 'Status' ones (3 plugs but 4 sets of on/off buttons???). i was also i bit apprehensive, but I have 1 behind a couch (for a lamp) & 1 concealed by a curtain (which is by no means thin) for my tv, dvd player etc & they work flawlessly. a fiver well spent

nothing to do with trust mate, i thought u might have made a genuine mistake. i dont know how wilkinsons price things, thats why i asked.

if you can read the bit that says "off marked price" on the pic u posted then u have very very good eye sight.

These are absolutely crap, I bought them last year got home and 2 of them didnt turn on and off with remote had to replace them 3 times so just got money back and bought the ones from currys and had no problems at all......

*hangs head in shame* I do stand corrected. Hot bargain. Well done to the OP and heat added.

Gosh, hope the neighbours don't use them as well then

i bought some of these for £5 and am well impressed with them, i have put them on my fish tank lights so that i do not have to open the cupboard underneath the tank to switch on and off, i also put one on a tank that is upstairs and it works from the living room. i went back for some more but they had sold out, anyone near rochdale know where they have some left?

Looks like another errand for lunch break tomorrow...will no doubt end up at the pick & mix as well

good deal if you can get it, i`ve seen these in a Netto leaflet that came through the door yesterday for £5 as well but think it`s only a pack of three?

Asda have been selling the status sockets for a fiver for ages now.

mine are doing them for £4 for a 3 pack

Went to pick up a couple packs today at my local store (Corby) but they had none, apparently they sold the all at 99% off last week!!!!

They have ordered me some from another local store though, but only at 75% off

These are great, I have a similar set & use them all the time for the hard to reach plug sockets also great at Christmas for the Christmas lights

I prefer the Asda ones, even though they come in a three pack and not a four pack like this

the remote is nicer and has a "all off" button
and the switches have a manual off switch

Do asda still have them in stock?

HOTTUP!

Do asda still have them in stock?

yes
their 4th button also works, I bought two packs and had 4 devices run from one remote

stick one on your router to reset it if/when it crashes

managed to pick up one this morning, they had them at the tills. Thanks!

None in Colchester. Apparently they are a promotional item.:(

Still in ASDA at £5 this morning

Plenty of the 3-pack available for £5 at Asda, Ashington yesterday. (using a 'roll-back' SEL). Had tried the local Wilkinsons store to no avail! (4-pack @ £5 as above)
