Only use this for lightweight items. I had a computer in this and the shelves were really sagging. Not a heavy computer either. Replaced it with the metal £10 unit from B&Q

Yeah i wouldn't buy it to use for storage of a heavy computer its not really designed to hold those kind of items but it holds most items that can fit on it.
I bought this set (or one similar but it looks identical) about 7 years ago for a small shed to hold paint tins and its done the job really well with only a tiny amount of bowing. Cracking price!

Do B&Q's metal shelves have sharp edges? We're looking for shelves to store kids games and toys etc. on, so want to make sure the shelves are kid-friendly.

Some slightly sharp edges, but not terribly sharp. If the toys are quite light, go for the plastic one. Absole doddle to put together. The metal ones are a 2 person job. Pics attached of both.

Plastic ones do the job, obviously use metal ones if you want to store different heavier items such as power tools, car batteries etc etc but for most cases people store the usual household items on there so the cheaper plastic ones are more than capable of holding them. But nice find mate .

Thank you for being so helpful! Sounds like the plastic ones will be better for us, for ease of building and softer edges. I'll be sure not to stack overly heavy items on them.
I bought the 5 tier ones of these not so long ago. Decent quality, easily put together. Argos rotate which size is on offer from repeatedly checking when the 5 tier one was on offer. The 3 tier shelf unit will be on offer next then after that the 5 tier will be back to £20.00.
There are metal ones in Amazon which are easy to assemble like this plastic

Hopeless if using them in a garage.

Mine lasted 2 months before having to chuck them due to mould growing on them.
