Hmmm, I run 225/50/17. Could I get away with 225/45/17...makijg the diameter slightly smaller. Would affect speedo calibration... Anything else?
Any Deals on 195/40/17 or 205/40/17's around?

You'd run 45s on an 18" rim to keep the Speedo the same. 45s on a 17" will make your arches look weird
Good price
The thing is any costs saved here are taken up by having the tyre fitted.
Never bought online .
What are the chargers for fitting at a decent tyre place ? I could imagine £10-£15 a tyre and also a few places refusing to fit ?

They charged me £15 per tyre around 8 yrs ago so I'd imagine it's more now.

Ok at £80 fitting takes me out of this deal as it's just not worth it .
Proper tyre places = £15

Your local 2nd hand tyre dealer on a bomb site = £10
Any idea of ratings?
Can't find them anywhere

It's in the ad 94Y.
If you don't really need tyres right now then maybe it's worth waiting for 20% off a month or 2 down the line. The recent round were 20% from demon tweets, surprised to see only 15% off this time.

About £15 per tyre fitted. I have 15" rims and my tyre guy charge £10.

225/45/17 are more common thus being cheaper. The tyres will have 5% less air, a bit firmer ride than at 50 profile.

Check difference in Speedo is too much for u to go 45.

Thanks! So at 70 on the speedo I'd be doing 66.57mph. I always have Waze running anyway so could monitor speed with that bit I'll likely hold out for the right size and a good price as per my link above.

The car came with Landsail Chinese tyres on it and they have actually performed well. Around £200 for a set of 4. I think they are B rating for wet and 69db so a bit better than the Toyo.

pretty much spot on but my local used tyres guy charges £7 per corner and honestly it’s no bomb site. Quite the professional setup.
I would tread carefully with this type of deal, price seems inflated.
Need 225/50/17 profile on my peugeot 3008. I wonder if the 5mm extra height makes a difference in comfort.

It's not 5mm. You are losing 5% of 225mm which is about 11.25mm which will make the ride a bit firmer. Check my post above to the link of Speedo difference and a host of measurements.

Personally I wouldn't want to lose 11mm of air as I want comfort. But it depends how much cheaper and whether u can cope with it.

Good point. Just 50 profile tires seem to always be a rip off.
U can perhaps go wider to 235 or 245/45/17 if your car can take it and if cost less than 50 profile.

Fitted these on my Mazda 6. Decent tyres with good wet grip and on par with Goodyear efficient grip. I would buy these again. Extra load didn't really seem any different to the standard load rating.
Where do you enter the code? Is it the voucher box? Ebay site keeps telling me its invalid
