Toyo's Proxes TR1 is a high performance summer tyre offering outstanding grip, wet & dry handling, and value. With an innovative assymetrical tread-pattern, it grips and handles well in a variety of conditions.

  • Excellent grip
  • Built in wear indicator
  • Outstanding wet performance

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is the follow-up to the ever popular T1-R tyre. Like its predecessor, this is a high performance road tyre offering outstanding grip and handling. Toyo have significantly improved wet handling on grip on the newer tyre though. The new tread pattern is designed to clear standing water out of the way and drain much more efficiently. This gives it vastly enhanced all-weather capability.

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is designed with a firmer sidewall and tread pattern that deforms less under cornering for better grip and handling, even on heavier cars..

"similar" what brand?
Here's a weird quirk....

Just searching for tyres and most places have a Car Reg field to save time....

did this on National tyres and it only came up with premium brands starting at £125 each... No other options..
Went back, put the exact same size on manually and straight away there's options for £55, and even Avons starting at £90 ...

That's a bit of a con...
Bargain!!
Would a price difference of, say £50-60, be worth it to go for Michelin ps4? Fully fitted I mean. That's for when the offer would be back at Costco.

Think that's mainly because the tyres that come with the car when brand new are the manufacturer's recommendation and will be most likely what the car was wearing when undergoing the road tests. So they'll either recommend the same or better.

Whereas budget £50 tyres definitely won't be recommended.

Are Avons not good enough then?

Still wierd, and as all options are legally and spec wise good enough it should be showing all options...
How does the quality of these compare with other tyres? I know chinese made tyres do not last that long but would these be able to endure regular 130+mph cycles?
Where do you get them fitted? Most places I’ve tried in the past get a bit snotty when you turn up with your own tyres

Buy one ya get three free

I said ya, buy one ya get three free.
Got these just before Christmas (the last time they where on offer). The difference was massively noticeable for me. Grip in dry and wet is great, road noise a little louder but not a deal breaker. I used PayPal 0% offer over 4 months too, so keep an eye out for that!

All tyres on the road are of a legal standard but I wouldn't say all tyres are created equal. e.g. OEM parts Vs pattern parts

Never said equal.... I remember the first time I put Yokohama's on the front of my old golf GTi... Roundabouts were never so much fun!!

Maybe not locally to them but their prices are nothing special. £96 for some Sportmaxx where I paid £73 at National Tyre.

The Demon Tweeks deal listed by the OP is really good however. I've just ordered 4 new A/T tyres for my Jeep and new fronts for my Giulietta and it's worked out to £67 per tyre including a local chap coming to mine to fit them (£75 all in for fitting, balancing etc)
Great quality tyres 🏻. Had them on BMW’s for years.
Great. Just ordered a set!

Thanks for the post
