Description:

Toyo's Proxes TR1 is a high performance summer tyre offering outstanding grip, wet & dry handling, and value. With an innovative assymetrical tread-pattern, it grips and handles well in a variety of conditions.

  • Excellent grip
  • Built in wear indicator
  • Outstanding wet performance

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is the follow-up to the ever popular T1-R tyre. Like its predecessor, this is a high performance road tyre offering outstanding grip and handling. Toyo have significantly improved wet handling on grip on the newer tyre though. The new tread pattern is designed to clear standing water out of the way and drain much more efficiently. This gives it vastly enhanced all-weather capability.

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is designed with a firmer sidewall and tread pattern that deforms less under cornering for better grip and handling, even on heavier cars..

Look HERE. Check at the bottom of the advert as some places price without VAT and some do include it.
The place I use is £10 a corner.
I bought some for the wife’s car in a similar deal last year.
Heard great things about them so went for these. Grips well and seems to be wearing ok, but my god, a lot of road noise from these compared to the budgets that were on it before.
I went for the Falkens that they are offering. A set of four comes to £185.39 after discount, and they are C for fuel, A for wet handling and quieter at 69 db. Toyos are E, B and 70 db respectively.

They also get better reviews than the Toyos.

Only £14 more...

Edited to confirm I'm referring to the same tyre size - 225/45 R17

Toyo's have been popping up on here cheap for quite a while now, I assume at least some have bought them, are they any good?

Where in the world do you live?? Are they fitting gold plated valves?? Most independents around Birmingham do £5 a wheel if you dispose of your old tyres yourself

To be honest the 4 places I called actually didn't really want to do it .
And said they don't normally do it , that's why its probably expensive.
At £5 a trye how are the even making profit on labour never mind equipment and over heads .
Brum at £5 a corner is so cheap! London local for me is £10. 25-30 a corner is taking the Mick, national tyres do it for 18.

Around £10 each mate. £30 is ridiculous. 10 minute job per tyre.

Yeah, Toyos are good. Proper Japanese tyres, not Ditch Finders.

I too went for the falken after doing some reading on reviews. Better rated than the Toyo, don't mind paying a little more for the wet grip.
In my opinion the TR1, much like the T1R, is an awful tyre. far too unpredictable in wet/cold weather.

Much better off spending a bit more money on a good tyre, as ultimately this is your cars connection between you and the road.

I'd suggest paying a bit more for a better tyre

And as silly as it may sound, they won't look quite right in the wheel arches, as there'll be a bigger gap between the tyre and wheel arch itself. Personally I wouldn't put these on a car that should run on 50 profile tyres.

Where do you live for £25 a tyre
Im not good with tyres will these fit?
Similar number : 225/45/R17 91Y
I had these on my ST but got rid of them because in the rain I was all over the road. In the dry though, they are great.

Yes of course it's the same profile, just the speed rating is a tiny different, it's absolutely fine. However, I recommend getting the Falkens instead of this from feedbacks of people who had these tyres.

Yes, I got it last month with 20% off, its no fake and besides if it were PayPal charge back no problem. Demon tweeks and another one don't jack up the price when eBay has a sale with them in it. Genuine tyres lol

That's £20 in less than an hour. I think that's reasonable.
Cheers guys .
Just rang a local small tyre place .
£10 per tyre .
Them silly quotes where from the 3 national big companies local to me .

That is not reasonable, it's damn cheap. They have overheads to pay plus the initial equipment cost. How often do people change tyres? Takes me about 3 years for a set doing 30k. £10 should be the minimum, but yeah cheaper is better.

ultimately the tyres on your car are what connect you to the road. if you have poor grip you will always regret not spending the extra £20 a tyre for that better grip and tyre wear

Considering, they're just changing the tyres and you have to dispose of the old tyres, personally I thought that was reasonable, but you're right, that is damn cheap. £10 should be about minimum.
