4 x 225/45/17 R17 94Y XL Toyo Proxes TR1 Road Tyres @ Ebay/Demontweeksdirect For £161.86 Using Code PAID20

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is the follow-up to the ever popular T1-R tyre. Like its predecessor, this is a high performance road tyre offering outstanding grip and handling. Toyo have significantly improved wet handling on grip on the newer tyre though. The new tread pattern is designed to clear standing water out of the way and drain much more efficiently. This gives it vastly enhanced all-weather capability.

The Toyo Proxes TR1 is designed with a firmer sidewall and tread pattern that deforms less under cornering for better grip and handling, even on heavier cars..

They are poor ratings for a branded tyre - you would not expect a decent brand to be rated E in any category.
Lots of budget tyres have better EU ratings .

Great price
Wonder if these will fit a Citreon DS3?

What does the current tyre say on it?
Does it work out a lot cheaper? How much would fitting cost?

Yes it's a cracking price even if you are charged 10 quid per tyre for fitting
An OK summer tyre, be VERY careful in cold/damp/wet conditions though.
Not good for the UK climate.

Cheap but I would get Falkens or Rainsports 3.
I wouldn't put these on a common family car with a normal everyday use to be honest. Not that you can't, just personal choice.

I've had these tyres and loved them. They are great tyres for some dry spirited driving. They excel (in this price range) in a specific situation (casual track days etc), but I woudln't recommend them as general all rounders.

If you're looking for cheap track tyres or something for spirited (dry) weekend drives, then these are superb and at a very good price. Heat added.

P.S. Saying E for fuel efficiency is poor for a branded performance orientated tyre is misleading. My current Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres also have an E for fuel efficiency...

205/45/R17

Must say I have not seen much in this size, must be hard on ride. As usually what I know of is 205/55/16, which is more common. If I were u I would be looking to increase the middle '45' number higher to like 55 if rolling radius is ok, to have better comfort on ride.

I've been using rainsport and currently the 3's for years now, fronts are wearing out so looking forward to getting the new 5's which apparently have much longer life.

Using the code on here demontweeks works out to be £54 per tyre (225/40/18) - camskill are £59 who I usually go with
I think Toyo have have made a massive marketing mess up calling theses 'TR1'. They should have called them something completely different as people consistently confuse them with the 'T1R' tyres, which were terrible in the winter time.
The new 'TR1' should be a better all-rounder and much like a normal mid range tyre. Sadly as they have only been out 1 year I have not had chance to test them out yet. So I can't personally say if I would or wouldn't recommend them.
Great price, you would pay that for cheap Chinese unknown brands.

On a tyre that grips well you would expect poor fuel economy
Thanks for posting; we have added your thread to the Highlights section

The Falkens are C A. Rainsports 3/5 are similar. I have Goodyear EGP which are B A.
I need me some 235/60 r18 tyres for xc90. Can anyone spot me an offer like this?
Wheely good deal

All decent tyres in the wet. A excellent tyre in the dry however won't be good on fuel

Absolute rubbish. You may be confusing these with the previous TR1's, I bought these recently and in the recent monsoons the grip was superb, easily on a par if not better than previous rain expert 3's. Also, the comments about E rating for fuel efficiency, there's literally around 1mpg difference between these and some A rated tyres so its minimal, I certainly haven't noticed any difference

So I take it you've tried all three to compare? If so I'd be intrigued to hear a more detailed explanation

You mean previous T1R's!
I said everybody gets the two confused.

You will receive the TR1. They have added "New T1R" to the listing so it gets picked up in the search when people search for T1R when they are actually looking for the TR1.
What they actually mean is the TR1 is the replacement for the T1R.
Thanks all, ordered for my Leon

Thank you for your reply.

I know this deal is for the different size tyres

Can you advice if these in size 195/50/R16 for my Yaris be okay or should I look for Reiken that people say are subsidery if Michelin.

Others can share their opinions too. It's a deal about tyres so please kindly do reply.
