Original Poster

there u go

Don't think it is a mis-price.

A lot of stores are clearing stocks of 60w bulbs due to legislation.

dailymail.co.uk/sci…tml

same in scunthorpe, i got the candle and the round ones for 10p

Shirley it should be either
10p
or
£0.10
0.10p is a tenth of a penny is it not ?

Good deal if available nationwide. We all need to stock up on traditional light bulbs as the new EU ones are terrible!

Non available in Weston-super-Mare.

Excellent.
I chucked out all the energy saving bulbs in my house after finding out how bad they are for you.

it wont be a misprice. As all price changes that go thru the tills without a need for a manual markdown will be national. And yer i work for them

just replacing all my energy saving ones with spot lights or these old bulbs due to health risks

Quick glance on Wikipedia suggests they're not dangerous to use for most people. "this radiation could aggravate symptoms in people who already suffer rare skin conditions that make them exceptionally sensitive to light"

Is there something you're referring to that I missed?

If you aren't affected by fluorescent tubes or the halogens used in floodlights, then there's no need. CFLs are just tiny fluorescent tubes bent into a compact shape.

Latest scare for energy saving bulbs dailymail.co.uk/hea…tml

Im not risking it with a new born on the way so ordered some banned old bulbs from ebay

its a shame there banning them as in tv and film we use them all the time due to there dimmability and colour.

Everything gives you cancer it seems. I bet I could get an independent (no pun intended) scientist to state that The Telegraph website gives you cancer.

anyways if the energy saving bulbs are bad for some reason or another for there rays just get a shade

Energy Savers are also just crap.. I've got a box of about 94 100W proper bulbs in the garage.. I'm prepared.. but yeah im gonna stockpile some 60w as well so this is a good deal.

whoosh

There is also the danger of them containing mercury and they are definitely not good for the planet.
So for the sake of maybe saving a few pennys on your electricity bill why take the risk of them affecting your health no matter how small that risk maybe??

Are you delusional? It's not the "sake of maybe saving a few pennys on your electricty bill". If you replace a traditional light bulb with a fluorescent light bulb and leave it on for the same duration, it's 100% definite to be cheaper to run. There's simply no "maybe" about it.

In regards to your mercury argument, click here

Based on pollution levels, living in cities is more likely to be damaging to your health compared to the countryside. You must be amazed that cities are still thriving.

In regards to your "why take the risk of them affecting your health no matter how small that risk maybe", I don't know how you live your lifestyle, but I'm sure your daily life is at the very least several more times dangerous than a life bulb. I personally don't understand that argument.

No worries you do it your way I'll do it mine
