Product description & features

Michelin Pilot Sport 4The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is a high performance tyre, developed with input from BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche.

Michelin have designed the Pilot Sport 4 tyre with dynamic response technology - their use of Aramid and Nylon in the makeup of the tyre helps to ensure that the tyre is continually conforming to the contours of the road, delivering the best traction available for the conditions.

The tyre's tread compounds has been derived from Michelin's extensive experience in key motorsport events - such as Formula E and World Rally Championship.

The Pilot Sport 4 has a tyre compound featuring a unique blend of elastomers and hydrophobic Silica which helps the tyre to remain flexible - delivering excellent wet grip and reliable braking performances. The tyre's wide longitudinal grooves work to disperse surface water from the road surface, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

Michelin tyres last 5,000 miles longer - find out more.

Ultra-reactive tread pattern design adapts to the road to provide an excellent steering control
Wide and deep longitudinal grooves for top performance in wet conditions
Consistent performance over life of tyre

Don't forget to check the age of the tyre's manufacture. I bought a pair (not these, not this supplier) last year and they were manufactured in 2016! Bit naughty, but not illegal. The company changed them without a quibble when I pointed it out, and the replacement pair had a late 2017 manufactured date which was fine (Feb 2018 when I bought them).

Easy to check - on tyre sidewall near the DOT code, will be 4 numbers for example, the first two numbers denote the week they were made, the following two numbers denote the year.
Example: 3418 means the 34th week (so made during August) of 2018

or in pic below 3615 means 36th week in 2015. Simples!

Very likely not to be a problem, but I'd still check. Easy way to offload older stock. Nothing wrong with it, but if you're paying for 'new' tyres I expect them to be no more than a few months old at worst.

Oh yeah, just to add if it's only 3 numbers, they are really OLD!
They won't be, but nice to have the info.

Nice. Quality tyres always use Michelin
Great tyres for the gti or s3
This is a great deal for these. Been keeping an eye out for tyres deals and these always seem to be the most expensive option for the size I need. Less than £100 each is a hot deal.
Good tyre great price
Can I use it for my Ford?
Brilliant tyres, I use these on both our cars.
Is the code only for this size ? I am after 225/45 R18 95y and if I put the code, nothing happens.

Yeah if you have Focus ST

I use the PS4 205/45 R17s on my high performance Fiesta MK8 125 Titanium

Great tyres.
Would it be worth putting these on a 16" stock Leon Mk3 alloys? Or just wait to replace them with 18" and getting these when they come around again.

NVM: just noticed the PS4 discount doesn't apply yo 16"

Run flat?
These would fit my mondeo titanium x except I swapped the boneshaker 40/18's for 55/16" steelies far more civilised ride.
Low profiles are no good for road use.

Can I use it for my Ford?

I had to 235 as standard and fitted 225, no problems, speedo affected by 0.3mph
I need 245/35 19 and 265 on the rear, but they never seen to be anywhere near this price 😩

Tyre width doesn’t affect the speedo

235/40 tyre has a 94mm side wall
225/40 tyre has a 90mm side wall

This affects the circumference of the wheel so will affect the Speedo.

Is it cheaper than Costco?

If you buy 2 or more then it’s slightly cheaper at Costco if you want them fitted (free fitting for 2 or more tyres). They are £90.58 per tyre

costco.co.uk/Tyr…619
Michelin currently have an claim back offer on proof of receipt/invoice. You can claim a further £20 for 2 tyres & £50 for 4 tyres on 17" & 18".

Go to offers.michelin.co.uk & enter code SP9

Just to edit: This is not available from Black circle as mentioned below. However if you are after different size tyres you can get upto a whopping £100 back on 19" & above tyres. Amount of claim back depends on size of tyre.

Apologies, voted cold due to one handed phone operation, bad habit.
I don;t know much about tyres. Can someone school me. Is the fuel efficiency rating C is something to worry about? I've seen some cheaper ones with B fuel efficiency rating and A on wet rating. So question; Is it still better to buy a Michelin with C & A rating or a lesser known brand with B & A rating?
For reference I have a Lexus RX400h normally get around 36mpg. Fuel efficiency is important to me. worried I'll see this figure drop if I buy these.
Thank you

Will these go onto a Qashqui? 🤪

Get the branded tyres. It's not going to get much worse than 36mpg for you - that'll be down to the weight of the car more than anything!

You can get these nice trainers that I saw the other day called Nike vapormax flynit to go with it only £170
The previous Pilot Super Sport transformed my car. Michelin's are fantastic tyres!
