4 x Switch Joy Con Thumb grips £2.39 delivered @ Ebay / mg-direct (choice of Blue/White/Red/Black/Clear)

Thought I'd share this as really impressed with the 4 thumb grips I received for a bargain price of £2.39 - quickly despatched by a UK seller. Choose from BLUE/WHITE/RED/BLACK/CLEAR colours.

Available in choice of colours for just £2.39 delivered is a real bargain. They apply really easily and are very comfortable to use. I got 2 x white and 2 x blue, so have a spare of each.

Lots of possibilities for themes. I created Mario character themes with Rosalina and Peach joycons by sticking a white grip on the blue joycon and a blue grip on the pink joycon.

If contacted, we would have been more than happy to refund said postage charge.

There is this feedback comment. I would have declined the postage fee too and opened a paypal case if it was me (if seller was not sorting out by private msg). I got brand new stamps on mine, you were probably just unlucky, they have overall good feedback.

I did private message them, they told me to wait 14 days to see if it turned up and denied it was incorrect postage until i opened a paypal case.
I'm sure 90% are going to be fine just in case they don't turn up people know why.

I got some gioteck ones which have a little more grip on but really i'm waiting for the kontrolfreak ones to come down in price to get those.

There is quite a few sellers selling the same plain colours grips (they are made in China), for not much more, if anyone prefers another seller on ebay.

There is these TreadZ ones £3.53 @ Gameseek and sold for £3.99 elsewhere. Not tried them, but look exactly the same to me to the ones on Ebay/Amazon.

PDP make good accessories for Wii U and Switch and have yellow/red thumb grips but they have not made it over to UK yet though and seem to be bundled with gel covers.

The Hori Mario 4 pack thumbgrips are the best IMHO to be honest (if you can find them).

There is also an Odyssey set coming out, but looks like you will have to also buy them bundled with a case, gel covers, and pouch for a fair few quid

Are these grips really necessary? I know that the Dualshock grips wear out, but is that really the same case for the Switch?

Nah, absolutely not necessary to be honest. But once you try then and get used to them, you tend to find you prefer to have them on than not have any at all.

I personally like using them, and like the chance to theme up the joy cons. But is not everyones preference for sure .I suppose from a protection point of view, might be best suited for kids too, with their chocolatey fingers and so on

I agree, I can't use my PS4 pad without them now.
Do these add height? Bought some from Amazon to add a small amount of height and they are just too big now to be comfortable.

Technically speaking every thumb grip will add height of course, but it shouldn't be anything noticeable. With the Hori ones and these plain colour ones from Ebay, you are talking a very small additional height (say approx. 0.1mm or 0.2mm max). Although they both look bigger and carry more height, they clip onto the joystick, and most of thumb grip (say 95% or more) is actually below the top of the joystick, as it wraps around it.

Not sure what grips you got before, but you won't have any height issues with these or most thumb grips.

Which ones did you get?

i used these -

and you get 2 grips that increase height, along with 2 that don't, but have lots of little 'nubs' for better grip:

I have the same brand on my Ps4 and actually used the Ps4 ones on the Nintendo pro controller. Joy con ones can be found on amazon just search 'Orb thumb grips switch'
