What precisely are the benefits of this? If you're checking for any congenital issues then you can get it done for free on the NHS, surely. £99 seems like a lot of cash to splash to me.

And also looking to be not very gdpr compliant...

*If* the NHS will do it.
Although most of my family are dead or dying from cancer they refused to do it for me or the other remaining members of my family. It’s worth paying for peace of mind. This will only benefit if multiple family members are tested and whatever you’re looking for is genetic. In my family’s case one of the cancers is and one isn’t but now we know.
Also, as I’ve said before, if you are going to have a DNA test done it’s better to go through a company which is “medically” regulated because how they look after and use the data on you has much stricter controls than companies that deal solely in genealogy.

Can you use a fake name/email Addy for resultsor would it just link to payment details?

Great if you have young kids your not sure about ha
I bought one of these. It’s very informative and very interesting. It can map where your heritage is from. I’m 75% British and the rest is Scandinavian. I have dark skin and black hair and I always thought I’d be Mediterranean. But I’m not. :/
Perfect gift for fathers day
Just go on the Jeremy kyle show 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
If this is just the regular kit, it's normally cheaper on Amazon (currently out of stock), I picked it up for £55 on a sale day.

I was 77% British and Irish,a smidgen of Scandavian, with French and German ancestry making up the other 20% or so. My Paternal Haplogroup and Maternal Haplogroupones are both from the Basque region too.
Plus I had a relative contact me with some background info. so very interesting.
They aim one day to be able to tell which village your ancestors came from so well worth the money imho.

Jeremy Kyle/ Jerry springer situation
It might be worth nothing that police in the US have successfully used these kind of DNA databases to convict killers, even close family's DNA is enough to link you
If you want to concentrate on using DNA for family history, the test, without the health report, can be bought directy from 23andme for £55 plus £10 for standard postage. It's a Father's Day offer ending on 17th June. 23andme.com/en-gb/

There is a website called Promethease where health information can be obtained using the results from a normal autosomal DNA test (Ancestry, Family Tree DNA, My Heritage or 23andMe) for about $10.
1) Be very careful who you give your DNA to.
2) If you still want to do it, try King's College London kcl.ac.uk/lsm…spx - at least it will be under English (up to a point European Union) data protection legislation.
