if you live in London you may qualify for £400 towards a new boiler if you meet the following criteria:

You are eligible for this scheme if :
•you ◦own your home or
◦are a private landlord with property in London and you, or the agent managing your property, are accredited with the Mayor’s London Rental Standard

•you have a gas, LPG, oil or solid fuel boiler that is: ◦70 per cent or less efficient (SAP2005 energy efficiency rating as detailed in this database)

Annoying, boiler packed up just a month ago. Cost over £2000 to replace. (Not voted, but I'm guessing the cold vote are people out of LDN)

True enough ...
OK, I've voted hot. There's no point in voting cold just because it isn't in your area, each area will have it's own schemes. This is paid for by London tax payers for Londoners. Chances are were funding yours too anyway.
Sorry op.... Voted cold by accident...
Voted hot, £400 and not tied to an overpriced supplier. Used a similar scheme in MK about 2 years ago. If you're lucky that's your fitting costs and so only your boiler to pay for.
damn my boiler is more than 70% efficient even though it is c**p.Would have loved to have had this.

I think a gas boiler would have to be really old to be less than 70% efficient. My brothers is 10yrs old, had various repairs and still doesn't qualify. Mine was over 30 years old when I claimed on a similar scheme but they don't make boilers to last like that anymore.
so as usual its a load of rollocks- in that nothing quite qualifies
Not allowing people to change from electric to gas and use this scheme seems pretty stupid (yes, as you guessed, because that's my situation..)
Would be more of an improvement than from old gas to new gas, if that was really what they cared about.
anything similar available in Nottingham?
