Can you tether?

General: Phones subject to availability. Each July your Airtime Contract will increase in line with the Retail Price Index rate of inflation announced in the April before. Plans include UK calls to UK landlines (01, 02, 03) & UK mobile networks. Calls & texts to mobiles in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man are not covered by your inclusive monthly usage allowance. UK texts and data only. Speeds experienced will vary by device and location. Tethering and peer to peer file sharing prohibited. Acceptable use policy applies.

I tether when required without issues.

Like I always say
Officially No
Unofficially Yes
So if you turn on hotspot on your iPhone an tether occasionally. Would they know ?

I am sure it is available for non broadband and tv customer you just have to speak to the right person

From experience good thing about virgin is you can have what you want very easily compared to other network
Hate it when they VM TV/BB only deals. We are all equal in the UK. The unlimited deal was £20 pm on black Friday, for all.
Cold ..Not all unlimited ..And no tethering like it was on all unlimited
The can you tether question gets boring. Ask virgin and they will say no. Ask anybody with a virgin sim and they will say most definitely yes. I've got 40GB a month and have had up to 4 people connected to my hotspot on many occasions. And just to be clear, in the small print of the deal I'm on, it did state "no tethering"

yep but as they move to the purple sims, they may have the ability to block tethering on the phone by changing their carrier settings. Hoping it doesn't happen but you never know, so if tethering is critical for you dont sign up to a 12 month deal. According to Virgin things will change as they integrate more of the services EE used to do for them into their own platform, they should be able to do more offers, "better" customer service and "other things" while still using the EE masts but reality is no one know what they are up to. New purple sims currently allow tethering and there will be a time according to virgin when all customers have to have one.
I tether my phone to my daughters tablet if we are away. I never use all my data and it rolls over each month which is great
OK, so you be able to tether locally, but has anyone tried it when they are abroad it...in one of their 43 roaming locations.
I'm with three currently and tethering certainly did not work abroad only here at home.

my contract ends with Vodafone in about a week, I wonder if they would match this deal or better it.

Ha ha ha yet never heard you cry about Amazon Prime and all the others that offer discounts to their subscribers or customers.
If tethering is important to you then you then you must understand the risks

If tethering is a high priority for you go to a network that allows tethering.
Is the deal still around or is it only the 100gb?
Why is 40gb in title? If you use your data it doesn't roll over

Why is 40gb in title? If you use your data it doesn't roll over

Exactly this, very misleading.
I was going to phone Virgin stating why am I only on 20GB when there's 40GB available for the same price.

Had to read through thread to come to this conclusion.
No tethering, no deal for me.
Cant really see the point of this Sim, when you can get the same Virgin Sim 100g for £20 or Unlimited Data for £25.

No tethering, no deal for me.

Tethering is supported and can be used! I took a contract last year, perfect service.
Is this deal still on guys? Because I checked the website but can’t find it 👀

There aren’t enough hours in the day for me to use up all that data.
Kinda cold, was £15 in January and will be again soon I'm sure.
Was £20 for 100gb last week as well.

Time machine bla bla bla, but this is the worst of there 3 deals this year. They keep cycling them so I'd wait, or talk them into honouring one of the previous 2.

As for tethering, officiall no. I hotel life a lot so was watching TV a few times via Android Tether.

First time, worked fine 500-600mb.
Second time after 400-500mb it cut off, flight mode/reactivated and worked again for a few hundred mb, got annoying.

However PDANet can hide tether 100% now after there last update, android phone needed and then it will let you connect any device (some may need technical configurations, chromebook etc).
I have this deal for £120 a year.
I have this deal for £10 pm and its not even contract but monthly rollover

Mate tethering is essential to me and I think it should be banned for not being allowed on any contract especially unlimited ones. You should be able to tether with any data end of. That's how it should be. I pay £16 a month for 64gb from EE. I can use about 10GB a day tethering. Virgin could block it and then just say it's in our terms.

I've just taken out a Vodafone contract which allows all my data to be tethered if needed.
