Bunch of con artists. These and eurocarparts.
Use MP a fair bit and have done for years, but this dishonest pricing is actually making me look elsewhere recently because of the time it wastes. I just keep what I need in cart and check back because they have "deals" like this every week. Then I'll bite when the price goes under average i.e. flavoured whey around £38-45.

With this "deal", it's currently £51 for flavoured whey with an original price £84.99. £51 is actually more expensive than average, yet it's supposed to be a "special BF discount".

I'm sure there's probably a few items just under the average price listed here, but checking my purchase history some of the products such as peanut butter, I've paid around £4 per kg for literally years. Not complaining so much there as it's still a decent price. However, this over-inflating original prices with "40%" discounts is ridiculous.

Although who am I to argue with their business model as it clearly works for them and there seems to be a never-ending stream of people falling for the large % "discounts", but for the people who see through it, it'd be nice to get notifications when the price actually dips below average so as not to waste time... so I just buy from competitors now instead of bothering to check the cart.

Yep they've upped the prices. Usually get a 5kg bag of unflavoured whey off them for around £37-42 with a decent code, even with this 40% off code its working out at £52

Not really, it’s just marketing and some fall for it.

Just compare the ‘offer price’ to what you usually pay, if it’s lower, it’s a deal, simples.

Sometimes I can’t remember so just look at my order history

They regularly had a 2 2.5kg flavoured bags for £40 deal. 5kg flavoured always was around £40-45 as well..

I use eaurocarparts all the time. But they're a bunch of con artists. This isn't a sale at all. None of ECP's discounts are a sale. Their base prices are massively inflated and fluctaute according to whatever percentage they are claiming to be taking off in their make believe sales.

I bought something from MP in their last "sale" and may get something this time depending on prices compared to competitors.

Dammit. Ordered last week with free delivery but only 40% off!
Cold until they stop jacking up the prices week on week to nullify the extra 5% discount.
Cheapest I've seen recently but wonder whether to wait for black Friday?
5Kg Whey Isolate has been out of stock for over 10 days now, and according to their support they don't know when they will be getting more (contacted 3 times now). Instead of sending out 2x 2.5Kg for a 5Kg order MyProtein want to charge about £20 more for the privilege of getting 5Kg of Whey as its in two separate bags.

So for the first time in over 10 years I have used another supplier.
Just want to say I bought this peanut butter on offer once. Had a bad stomach 3 times in a row when I had it.

Oops went with the code BLACK they advertised;-)

Cold over inflated pricing.
Not focusing on macro / micro content with this....both this and the white chocolate version taste pretty good....just as a different ‘treat’ (a spoonful!) - has been pretty consistent at £6 (over priced) but at £3.59 Delivered I have ordered one for secret Santa for my mate myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/protein-spreads/11691950.html?affil=thggpsad&switchcurrency=GBP&shippingcountry=GB&variation=11691951&thg_ppc_campaign=71700000047622995&product_id=11691951&gclid=Cj0KCQiAq97uBRCwARIsADTziyaVef_12AjuL_h_xezH20MjF_cwPk9h6WLaKFz2Urd8N64TBhouMpYaAjf-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I placed an order in summer.
The flapjacks were about £8 and peanut butter £3.60
With this code, flapjacks £10, peanut butter over £4.

So freezing cold from me.
Note to my protein- dont take the p|ss with the markup before offering a massive discount.

Been using their peanut butter almost every day for about a year and never once had any issues. Maybe you had a bad batch?

Sadly seems to be the norm. Can’t be long before advertising standards or consumer watch dog does something as more and more company are giving discounts after inflating prices. Every time there’s an eBay code. Black Friday last year was rife with it to, think it was curry’s that actually had a laptop cost £100 more on Black Friday but advertised it as a massive saving.
Is there ever not a sale on at MyProtein?

Has anyone ever paid their claimed RRP? Almost as bad as DFS.

I get a text almost every other week "Hurry 50% off today only using code DFS4PROTEIN"

EDIT. I bought 3 t shirts a month ago at £5 each after a code. Today they are £8.85 each after applying the code!!!

Got to subsidise the shipping somehow I guess. MyProtein should be banned from HUKD.

I noticed that. 5kg is normally £99 rather than £120 for 2 x 2.5kg which is way too much for what it is.

Can I ask, which supplier have you moved on to and what product?
MyProtein and BulkPowders and the 2 biggest ones I think but they both use these tactics. I have found that Bulkpowders is more expensive though.

Just like the Adidas Black Friday ‘sale’. I was waiting for it so I could buy a specific pair of trainers I already own but in a different colour. They’re £20 more in the current ‘super sale’

About time these dodgy practices were called out
Ordered for my sister in law who is a vegan. Good deal especially the peanut butter! I also got 12% cashback from Quidco. Thanks!
Agree with all the price hike comments. But any other places folks have shopped for good quality, reasonably priced whey protein and other supplements? Doesn’t seems to be any strong competition who are committed to keeping the prices reasonable for consumers.
