someone tell me if this is any good please, need a new tv for daughters bedroom and this, although big would be great for price of much smaller one

Not sure if I'd fancy a 42" TV that wasn't HD. Good price, but for an extra £50 you'd get a cheap HD model.

Im not going to be able to afford HD for a long time - well not until its free
my other TV's are HD ready - this would just be for a bedroom

I've washed my hands of Bigpockets.... Gave them a 2nd then a 3rd chance but stuff always out of stock after ordering. Problem is they don't tell until a few days later.

No, dont buy this.
This is not 1080P, its not even 720P,.,its 480.
Basically, these spec plasmas were out around 4 or 5 years ago. It doesnt have HDMI, or component inputs. You will be using Scart.
It is made by Watson... eek.

You can get much better used plasmas for £300 on the classifieds on AVForums.

I wouldn't buy a 42" TV with a resolution of 852x480.

Hm, 93cm wide 52cm tall, and 856 pixels tall by 480 across. Thems are some big pixels. Might be okay enough depending on your viewing distance, and although it doesn't have HDMI, it does have DVI, which is more or less the same thing but without audio and with a different connector. It's not a bad deal.

Pants tv.. avoid... definately NOT worth spending any money on.

thank you all so much - will not go for - but does anyone know of a 40", good make not too muuch more than this price or even a 37"
thanks dont mind itf its LCD

To be fair the resololution isn't the issue. Sure, 720P or 1080P would be better, but I've seen some great images on Plasma's given a good source. Panasonic at this resolution look great when hooked up to an xbox 360 via component. Its the connectivity that lets this down massively. You could connect a console or HTPC by VGA, but everything else would be going via scart, which will indeed look pretty poor.

i believe the £50 quote was in response to the post immediately above it:
"someone tell me if this is any good please, need a new tv for daughters bedroom and this, although big would be great for price of much smaller one"

insinuating that £50 more would get you a much better quality hd ready tv for the bedroom, likely a 26" or 32"

Em, i dont see why this is expired? The TV has 720P HD and 1080i HD, these all work with the ps3 and things like virgin HD?

in addition, the TV ACCEPTS 720P and 1080i bit will have to downscale to the resolution of the TV which is alot lower.
