be careful with this one, Ryanair uses Reus airport for Barcelona which is 108 km away from Barcelona.
They use El prat main airport now, went last month with Ryan air and there is a train from there to most places, if that helps anyone and the t10 ticket gives you 10 journies.

If anyone needs any advice feel free to ask.

To everyone: They fly to 3 different airports in Barcelona. If you wish to go to the main city, fly to El Prat. Always check the details and make sure it says BCN not REU or GRO. Check-in online before going to the airport.

PS. Don't blame your stupidity on Ryanair.

This doesn't seem to be the case anymore, I flew about two weeks ago and I landed in El Prat, which is 30mns away from Barcelona by train (direct)

Looks like they landed into the wrong airport and departed from the wrong airport a few days later as well. Good job I went to the wrong airport as well otherwise I might not have got home.

Partly correct. Flew from Stansted last week and it was into Girona. That's an hour and 18 mins on a bus to the centre. (Flew back with Vueling who are another budget airline but much, shall we say, cleaner? And that was from El Prat to MCR. £70 total for all our flights.)

RyanAir fly from and to all three airports now, but it depends on your departing flight location to which airport you end up at.

Highly recommend Camping 3 Estrella's for those looking for a budget get away. Right next to Barcelona's main airport, El Prat. Works out at £15 pp/pn in a pod. Right on the beach front. Though it is an hour drive/bus ride to the city centre, those buses stop running about 10pm local time weekdays, 11pm weekend, and aren't included in the transport pass. €2.15 each trip, regardless if you get off one stop after or 20.

Glorious city. Get up early and explore, then chill with a few San Miguel's on the beach.

Recommend their BrewDog (has Tactical Nuclear Penguin in bottles) and a bar called 'The B*llocks' if you're into your rock music. Superb atmosphere and only €2.50 a pint.
Just be aware that RA has changed their seating policy (even if they deny it) and now you need to pay extra money if you want to sit next to your travel companions. Otherwise they'll separate you and put you in middle seats even when half of the flight is empty. Worth knowing when travelling with kids (under 12 you must purchase the right to sit next to your children - most family unfriendly airline imo). So calculate this also in your price.

When flying with children its free to add a child and adult next to each other.
Going to add my 2 cents since it's my favourite city.

It's amazing, I've been 8 times already! Delicious food, great vibe, nice people and fantastic weather. However, if you ask me which month to go... I'm going to say September - November. Why? Not much tourists. I want to feel like a local when I visit a new country. I want to know their culture and their way of living.

Best restaurant for me is Casa Lolea ( order the risotto!!!) and Can Mano (everything is amazing, fresh 'home cooked' seafoods). I visit both restaurants every time I'm there. I will refund your bill if you don't like their food. Haha.

I have just discovered this....I'm jumping as I unwittingly accepted the randomly allocated seats (& yes there were lots of seats together available) so my 8 & 10 year olds are sitting alone when we fly on Saturday. I'm just going to lay it on really thick with the airport staff/cabin crew/passengers that my kids are terrified of flying and get really bad travel sickness and hope they will at least sit each child with a parent! Either that or I'll take advantage of the peace and quiet and allow some random stranger the pleasure of my 2 talking constanly/needing loo breaks every 15 minutes etc whilst I start my holibobs relaxing with a G&T

You're on!!!
