Looks good, but the reviews hint the quality control may not be great.

It really is a rubbish product. OK for the occasional use but not a toolbox for all

I brought one of these for £100 and no its not Snap-On but it is a handy tool box to have around the house for day to day stuff.

But for £100 what do you expect. I think its great, wish I had got it for £45.

My one did have a duplicate spanner, which i took back and they exchanged for the right one!.

Darren.

Theres some good deals in halfords at the moment. My husband has just brought an old VW beetle to restore and wanted some new tools for xmas and I have ordered him the following to collect instore tomorrow which comes with life time guarantee and seems to have everything he needs for his restoration

halfords Pro / Advanced range is usually pretty good kit for the money, and more than enough for home mechanics.

Treat this as a "starter" set for the money, and replace sockets / spanners with better quality one as they are required, and you wont go far wrong.

I've got the 150 piece set and have had it for about 13 years, it's never let me down. I did have one of the ratchet extensions snap on me, but took it back to Halfords, with no receipt or anything and they replaced it immediately.
Just be aware thought that the lifetime guarantee doesn't apply to any moving parts in the set - ie ratchets and ratchet spanners, if the ratchet mechanism fails

There is a lot there for someone just starting out ,you could pay that for a decent socket set.

I think I'd go for the decent socket set than this.
I bought one of these Halfords things a couple of years and the only tool of any decent quality was the hammer. I think the screwdriver bits were made of cheese.

I'm not sure I can really see anyone this would be a good buy for. If you're just going to use a tool a couple of times then you're probably better off going for the really cheap tat rather than paying £45 for stuff that's at best going to be marginally better, and if you're going to use tools in any way seriously you'll want to get significantly better tools than this. Add in the fact that for the casual user you're highly unlikely to use almost all the sockets or screwdriver bits included and I really can't see much going for it.

These days they need to see a receipt. Hard to find after 13 years.:|

Reserved one and went to view it, absolute TAT as me mam used to say, do not buy its of no use at all. Some of the tools are worse than found in the pound shop, honest - allen keys for example,
