450g Cooked Ham Trimmings - £1.75 @ Aldi

Went in to get the 300W Multi tool and found this whilst I was there, cracking deal, said "New" on the shelf edge label.

Inb4 "Full of water" / "Like rubber" / "Reconstituted" / "Mostly fat" / "Feed to dog" / "Mmm Salt" / etc. - It's actually none of those.

97% Pork, looks more like damaged slices to me, none of it was particularly thick so good for sandwiches etc. Cheapest I've seen of the same quality is the B&M 200g for 99p, but the B&M ham can be more hit and miss, and this is cheaper onywhoo.

Seen this in mine and haven't tried it yet. It's good value though.

Has been this price for ages. Good quality ham pieces, some packs are better than others but thats luck of the draw and only 175 so no complaints from me.

Yes make sure you look through the packs, last time I bought this it was well in date but when opened had definitely gone off.

That's half the fun though, rooting round for the best packs. Said 'new' too so am guessing not all stores had it but maybe they've rolled it out nationally.

worth a punt at the price.

yep look through the boxes on the shelves
sometimes you get nice slices of ham not just bits of ham

It looks good but it is actually ham that's been 'reformed' into one big piece and sliced and doesn't taste great either! Won't buy again!!

They do similar packs in Iceland. They have ham, chicken, turkey or pork. Some packs are better than others, some are smoked or peppered, I think it depends when you go.

No you're wrong, I know what reconstituted ham looks like thankyou, and this ain't it. This is just offcuts that weren't big enough to make full slices that the supermarkets say consumers "prefer", so it gets sold on at reduced price to people who have more sense.

Obviously you're not one of these people, so all the more for people who do have more sense!

Oh and it tastes really good, I've just had some cheers.

If you like your ham to look like it's done 12 rounds with Mike Tyson & then put in a cement mixer, this is the way to go.

Hot for me, but it's been this price ages.

hot... from a veggie

And this is from somebody whose idea of having fun is rooting through packs of ham in Aldi X)

I posted this earlier in the year and you have even stolen my picture!

Heat for making me laugh ------ I have bought this many a time ---- just search through and choose the best you can find. It is perfectly OK for sandwiches.

lol. Thanks for the post OP. I've never seen this in my local Aldi but will look again. As for the quality and wording on the package... remember horse gate? You can't believe a word anyway.

lol.... been having this for years at aldi.

Seems almost all sandwich meats are reformed these days, unless you pay a fortune for real chicken breast or something. I hate it when i read reformed as I once saw a video on what bits of rubbish they use to reform the meat. Ham is the worst, chicken the best apparently.

Welcome to the internets. And Google.

Same price and quality as Iceland. It's actually really nice compared to the thinly sliced crap you get at most places

Very salty last time I tried this (2 weeks ago)

Just had some of this on a wrap for lunch - its nice stuff, provided you go through the packs first to find the best one!
Given that I used to pay £3+ at tesco for less, and mostly water, this is a bargain

I have just been at my local and the packs were all made up of thick chunks of ham that were only really fit for a stew or the doggy. Couldnt find a pack i could use. Funny. I posted earlier today saying this was great stuff, but todays stuff was unuseable. X)

TK Maxx of Supermarkets

Like most cured meats it smells like eggy fart when first open it!

My dog loves it.

this is as rubbish as the reduced items in supermarkets post I put up yesterday. rubbish deal.

Ive tried it, preferred it to those slimy slim sandwiches slices of apparent "ham" that some takeaway places use

Why do I get the image of a certain Viz character when I read that.

Those 400gm packs of wafer thin ham or chicken are only roughly that in price in Aldi or Lidl...aren't they?

COLD.......... while the deal is good, ( nothing wrong with ALDI and its foodstuffs etc ! ) ... all the OP has done is lifted another post showing this offer in its entirety and pretended he found it!!

He can't deny it either, since he posted on the original post!

Also... there's little point calling someone " thick as pigs droppings " when you :

1 - Can't spell "despair " correctly oO

2- Don't realise the internet is singular and not plural, you don't have " internets".
