After a bit of search, I think I've found some specs:-

]http//te…tml
Aldi is set to offer a 47-inch HD-ready LCD TV in April - and as it's Aldi, you would expect it to be cheap. But as yet, the company is being a little coy about the price tag and an image - only making it known a week before it hits its stores.
The TV, which will feature an integrated digital tuner alongside the analogue, also comes with a wall bracket (if your wall can cope with it) and a three-year warranty. Features include 1600:1 contrast ratio, wide viewing angle, 16.7 million colours, S-Video input, PC input, 2 x Scart lead inputs, 2 x HDMI inputs and automatic volume correction.

Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully will be a good Aldi special. We await the price with baited breath!

If so I'm getting one :-D

Do Aldi offer any guarantee??

I wonder what they will price this, I have an aldi right by me and will be waiting on opening day if this is priced as good as I hope it will be.

at my local Aldi the poster for this was up last week and somebody has written with a marker pen .....£1099..... in the top corner, so unless somebody came shopping with a marker pen and some step ladders I suspect this will be the price.....if so it's not that great a bargain for an unknown set, 1080p or otherwise.

I think this will come with a three year guarantee.

£1099 would be a horrible price

how is 1099 a horror price aldi have the finest return policy i have seen in retail any probs and there give you a full refund no questions asked (i have done this with the first plasma they did only cos it was not HD)

I agree, but to be honest I can't see it selling for that much. LCD TV's have dropped down in price a hell of a lot and for £1100 I'm sure you could find a better one.
We'll just have to wait and see.

I have just had the email £1099 with a 3 year gaurantee in store on 19th April

A little bit more than I had hoped for, I'm very tempted because of the specs :-D :-D

If a previous poster is correct and it was going in the USA for $899, then this is a bit of a rip off. $899 is only around £460! I bet they'll change their mind about the price when they are not sold! Watch out for the sales.

dinosteveus

I agree, but to be honest I can't see it selling for that much.

:whistling:

Yup they won't have people clammering o get their hands on this ice cold deal, disappointing.

It does indeed.
My fault, I should have checked properly, but at least I won't have to wait for Aldi to open on the 19th.
Unless I find a 'better' one in 10 days, I'll give this a shot.

you can get a Samsung LE46M53BDX or a Samsung LE46N73BDX with 3yr warranty for the same kind of money

definitely not worth £1099 for an unbranded set - especially when there's a few under the £1k mark such as the samsung for £950 at dixons.

Not sure where you've been looking,I cannot find a 47" tv for that price on their website......42" maybe but not 46" or 47".

The best price i can find by way of comparison is this ]click Samsung 46" lcd at £1075,better contrast ratio at 3000:1 but only 1xHDMI,1 year guarantee. So this set including the wall bracket,2xHDMI and 3 year guarantee is a pretty decent price for what you are getting.:)

Therefore have voted hot!

Edi yours is only 1080i not 1080p, only 1 HDMI not 2 and no wall bracket, so not realy a fair comparison

Agreed the samsungs are a similar size screen but not 1080p. Find a 47inch 1080p lcd for 1099 for a direct comparison.

hello... I know that... I was pointing out where azz must have got mixed up :-D

If you're thinking of buying one of these for non HD sources then you will find the picture crap!

32" is bad enough but standard sources on 47" will look a complete mess
