480g (big jar) of sliced green Jalapeno Peppers 70p @ Tesco

I love these pickled Jalapenos, nice kick but with a sweet tang, I have them on everything, mexican, pizzas, sandwiches...yum! The discovery jars are £1.29 for 200g and these are actually nicer than them IMHO.

These Aleyna ones are usually £1, making them much better value than the Discovery ones, but at 70p, I think they're a real bargain.

Bit of a niche deal I admit but hope it helps someone

EDIT: The red jalapenos are also 70p. Bit sweeter than the greens I find, quite similar to a roquito tesco.com/gro…480

EDIT 2: There's a host of pickled chillies for 70p: tesco.com/gro…660 (scroll down). Cherry peppers, whole green and red pickled chilli peppers (kebab shop style) and extra hot ones too!

Nice one. Not tried these yet, but I'll be sure to try soon.

We get through these like nobodies business! Will be stocking up a few if they are at our local. Cheers

love jalapenos, aleyna ones are not bad, but the best ones which are closest to the ones subways use are in my opinion the melis brand. Have tried them all, now sticking to melis, they are crunchy and not the soft mushy types with little kick.

The subway jalapeños are much better. These are pretty soft.

I purchased them few months ago for 50p, then my local store didnt have them for a while. Now they have smaller ones for around this price. Gonna check the store today.

Cheers for this , heat added

Just be prepared when you go toilet after eating some of these! (_;)

Where shall i bring the forklift truck?

So where do you get these Melis branded ones from then? Do prefer a crunch to mine too

I disagree. These tend to be quite crunchy, the ones you get from Old El Paso and Discovery tend to be soft.

Good price for jalepeno's ...

I have them with every meal ... except breakfast ofcourse!

I love these ones, always get them from HB but this is an even better price.

Would also be interested to know where you get the Melis ones and how much they are?

they are always this price for Aleyna in home bargains, and the roasted red peppers (which are fabulous)

These are always this price in Home Bargains

Good to know. Obviously availability of Tescos is a bit more convenient. They should be online if your big local Tesco has them.

I find these to be quite crunchy, much more so than the Discovery or Old El Paso ones anyway.

Obviously not a real man, unlike me, I wash my eyes out with scotch bonnets every morning and use ghost chillies as mouthwash.

Are the HB the whole ones?
I looked at them yesterday and considered buying them, but wasn't sure of the quality.

I get them from a local premier shop, but they do them in a couple of polish food and middle eastern food shops nearby

How long do they last once opened??

Some jars say 3 days but that's a push even for me!

Occasionally they have the whole ones but not for a while in my local, just the sliced ones and they are far superior to El Paso

Pretty sure they are 89p in HB

I'd say at least a month, they're pickled after all.

Just couldn't resist voting this HOT! I would have voted twice if I could cos it's got a REAL deal link!!! Well done OP.

Buy these regularly in Home Bargains and they are not this price as standard.

I'm not so sure - I've tried a couple of different brands in smaller jars and they don't seem as nice after four-five days.

From personal experience with these ones I'd say they'll be good for two weeks easily. Maybe quite a bit more, but seem to get less crunchy the longer left open.

Freeze half?

Once opened. I keep it in the fridge and I still use it for more than a month.

Sure is one HOT deal in a jar

Heat. They do these at my local Heron's for 85p. Not the nicest jalapenos (old el passo/discovery ones have a nicer texture/flavour) but can't beat them for price. Good for bulking up noodles/basic meals.

Sell them in B&M too. Always buy a jar when I pop in.

much prefer a roquito pepper myself, although more expensive

what do you say Jalapeno or Halapino ? I stick to the English pronunciation Jalapeno

Yummy yummy warmth in my tummy ! I lurve these. Any kinda chillies really but these are a nice mild heat. Can't find fresh jalapeno chillies anywhere near where I live so these are the next best thing. I refuse to pay for branded jars. Why pay more for less ? They are sliced thinner and soft like others have mentioned. These are thicker with a nice crunch to them. Once opened, they will keep nicely in the fridge for a few weeks (but lucky if they last a few days in my house )

Yep roquitos are bloody lovely too. Lush on pizzas. Not as good in sandwiches for me though, and as you say, considerably dearer.
