X34P may be a good option. Can be had for £650-700 on offer, IPS, 3440x1440, 120Hz, G-sync, Ultrawide, good colours/response time etc. Can be driven by a single 2070/1080ti etc.

I know its not 32:9. These are very niche so you pay the premium.

I'd be interested in 32:9 for single player games but certainly not at 1080p.

Minimum 2080ti and still will only get 60 to 75 FPS on demanding games on med high mixture.

Don't get the wide-screen obsessed. but each to there own I own the LG gl850 best monitor on the market
Many types of game look superb on an ultrawide and they're vastly superior for most types of productivity. This one is a pure gaming monitor as 1080p i next to useless for doing work on.
This is very good price op. I've bought mine over a year ago when it dipped to £700 (then it went back up again).

I use mine for software development work and I do tend to move my head from side to side more often than I would like due to the width of the monitor. Also, as a few other have commented, at 1080, for productivity, this could be better, and watching videos, especially Netflix, the video displayed is a bit odd when in full screen mode (I guess this is true with any ultra wide screens). I play the odd games and it is butter smooth with Freesync.
If I was to go out and buy another monitor, I'll probably get a slightly smaller one with 1440 or 1200, but simply because of my needs.

Still a great price though. Heat added.

It's Quite hard to get high Res on ultrawides so that's why it's 1080p

Nothing to show? Plenty of 1440p ultras out there
My first thought was "1080 on a 49" monitor?!"

But it seems it's basically the size of two 27" 16:9 monitors stood side-by-side. Still at the low end for the size, but not as bad as I first thought.

Trusted Reviews rated it highly. Seems like an absolutely brilliant monitor, let down slightly by the resolution. How much extra is another 360 pixels in height worth?

I'd like to see one next to a 34" 3440x1440 monitor before buying given there's plenty of choice now in the £400-£700 bracket.

You don't like 4K? Although 1440p is a pretty nice compromise in my opinion
Hi this is a nice deal for the price and shouldnt be sniffed at.

Personally it's not for me. A screen that size really does benefit from 4k, a decent refresh and low MS.

In this case you get what you pay for.

For £700 Id go for a smaller screen with a higher spec. Screen tech is improving and getting cheap. This screen will feel 'old' quite quickly where as a higher spec smaller screen will have a longer lifespan and satisfaction feeling.

Roll up and flexible screens are on their way in, in a big way. I dont want feel like that guy who bought a 'massive' 32'' CRT a realitively short time before LCD and LEDs became affordable.

The point is he goes round spamming pro only 4k comments without contributing anything or factoring why a deal might be a good deal, I love 4k, my 55 LG Dolby vision oled playing Witcher or stuff like mad max is breath taking.....I just wish I could get the refresh to 120hz!

I also have an amazing gaming rig called an nvidia shield which gives me a £3k graphics card 😃 for £159 and I can tell you gaming on ultra everything on this screen is AMAZING!!! It does have its lag here and there on stuff like ghost recon wildlands but rarely....be the 60hz probably so I can only imagine what 4k 55 and 120hz is like!!

Funnily enough on res evil I think, it could output to like 12k from the nvidia without blinking on benchmark tests!!

Last point regarding 4k how many Xbox/PS owners have a 4k console? How many PC owners have rigs worth thousands to output 4k on top settings??

90% of gamers are on 1080 or less being realistic unless they have spent to get the output right

Maths not your strong suit?

Two 1920x1080 side by side is 3840x1080. It's exactly the same resolution.

Two 27" 1920x1080 monitors would be vastly cheaper though.

Actually, I let myself down through a lack of investigation. This thread doesn't mention the full resolution (merely 1080P).

I haven't gamed in 120fps, how does it compare to 60fps? I know latency for online multiplayer is obviously a benefit at higher hz, but does the game play noticeably better to the extent that it's worth the resources over graphics and resolution?

Sorry, its actually £6+, used to be £10k and if you have no clue what I'm on about then sir, you are a complete spanner! Nvidia shield is rocking a Tesla P40.....(cloud pc) maybe get your head 'in the clouds'

EDIT: For the uninitiated of us if you go buy an nvidia shield you automatically qualify for their beta geforcenow list (at least for now) meaning you can cloud stream Uplay/steam games for free using Nvidia's top cloud tech, its powerful enough to output 12k resolution on ultra settings without breaking sweat basically.....only issue is the supported games are limited but there is a list and tends to be the better games in general anyway; plenty for me, just need FM20 to get support then I can use geforcenow on the tablet!

Im guessing you're saying you haven't gamed at 120fps in general but you only really notice the difference when you play with an 144hz or 120hz monitor in my experience. When you do get a suitable monitor the experience is astounding and everything feels super smooth. I game at 144FPS at 144hz and it feels alot better than my console.

The perceived responsiveness is also a benefit. Games just feel better. If that makes sense
