Found 22nd Aug 2012
Just went to my local Home Bargains in Colchester and found them selling Whole Earth Peanut butter for 49p a jar. Sadly someone got there first and there was no Crunchy left but for 49p I was happy to compromise. These are larger jars than normal as the jar says 50% extra free.

It wasn't. I left at 8 (when it shut) but did not get home until later. Keep your knickers on...
Well you did say "just went" which implies that, well, you'd just been. At 10pm.
Half a penny, what a deal!

Some of y'all need to get a life questioning the ops timekeeping
Are you American?

maybe the store is 2 hours away
Now we're talking. This is the real stuff, no refined sugar added. I need to stock up. This is awesome stuff for building yourself up at the gym pre workout. Although if you eat too much you build it up around the waist very easily

HAHA. It's only 5 minutes away but I went to ASDA afterwards then came back, unpacked, watched a bit of TV then later posted this. I am sorry to say that once I found it, rushing home to post this deal wasn't top on my agenda!
I got some Whole Earth crunchy hazelnut chocolate spread in Home Bargains yesterday at same price, best before date Dec 2012.
This is far nicer than Sun Pat or supermarket brands, especially the crunchy version. Probably short-dated like the Whole Earth choc spread HB are selling, but well worth a punt if eat pb regularly.
My local HB is 10 miles away, how many jars do I have to buy to justify spending £3 on diesel to get there and back?

Blimey , so it is. Stonking savings here, 80 % off!
Good deal as most basic peanut butter is around the 32p mark

But it does contain Palm oil, or at least the ones in Asda do, which is probably as bad for you, the environment and Gorillas.

They claim it has to be there for extremely dubious reasons, which is why I don't buy anything from Whole Earth anymore.

Best before is September btw.
On Average they're 30 or more insect fragments per 100 grams of peanut butter according to the United States Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition

At least when I pop into home bargains tomorrow I'll know that they're will be a full shelf of this stuff.

This stuff might be organic but its not great and doesn't taste great either.

Sainsburys stock a brand called The peanut butter company. Their peanut butter is 99.5% peanuts and 0.5% salt. Tastes lovely. The only issue is that the peanut butter consistency is more liquidy on top and thick at the bottom of the jar so you need to be careful with a new jar. Once you mix it up its fine. There is no icing, sugar, palm oil or anything.
Went to a home bargains shop yesterday for the first time, seemed to have more than its fair share of smelly people

I went there last week and some beast of a woman sneezed 6-7 times on the lady serving her. She only covered her hand for the last one and used it to collect her change. Then her crème de la crème was hocking back a greeny on the way out! I was about to go for food as well, but it put me off eating for hours

This is one of the best Peanut Butter products out there, they don't unnecessarily add sugar like most other Peanut Butter manufacturers do.

You must really have a tough time shopping if you care about such things as the oil. Palm oil has substituded othjer oils in a lot of other products due it the cost and I guess abundance of palm. I would imagine if you are like this with oil you must only eat organic in everything else and check each label for the country of origin then pull out your smart phone to do some research .You must have to shop all day! Either that or you have got all high and mighty to look clever in the thread!.
Wow, great price. Wish I had a home bargains near me. Really good peanut butter.
Sighted in store today (Bristol Brislington) - good deal.
Bought 3, great deal....last week I baid around 2.50 for one in asda....
isn't this the stuff (meaning any peanut butter) that made elvis so fat?
i work out hard to get a good figure, don't want to ruin it for the ladies.
Rushed out to the Home Bargains in Middlesbrough for their opening, no sign of any or that there were any at any time, sad times, was looking forward to some yummy peanut butter

Went today and bought 12 jars, had to go to Alfreton anyway so no unnecessary expenditure on diesel. Just finished using our last bulk buy which was two years out of date but still perfectly edible.

Come on everyone... a few more hot votes to push it over the 500 mark!

If you're being half serious here (or for others interested), if you lift/do enough resistance training to stimulate muscle growth, then peanut butter is awesome! Yeh, it's high in calories, but also relatively high in protein and fat content (simply put, good fats). For the calorie count to price (49p is a good price OP :)), then this will certainly help making gains! (Don't however be like....'RAWR POWER' and eat 3 jars of it in a sitting or you'll pile on weight like nothing else)

HOT from me
@cruddasj i'm out 2moro so i'll check it out at my local HB. thanks for the info, my comment was half serious yeah. as a matter of fact i do burn alot of calories as a long distance cyclist. my mum never buys peanut butter
