Its a thin, and light mp3. Pretty decent player if you just want to enjoy the music. The player isn't exactly newest generation, but it still looks very good. According to Cnet, it sounds good too.

'We were quite happy with the Archos Gmini XS 100's sound quality; we heard plenty of high-end details, thumping bass, and little or no hiss. '

In case it isn't obvious: This player uses a Micro Drive (spinning hard disk drive) rather than flash memory. Very undesirable for a portable player, due to it's high power consumption and shock sensitivity.

Selling factor in it's days was the relative low price and high capacity (when compared to flash memory).

Personally I still think this is a good deal. I have an old iRiver with this technology and it works absolutely fine unless you want to use it for jogging/running where there is severe disruption to the movement, putting it in a shoulder bag etc. is no problem.

That said, it does come with some reassurance of warranty.

I have one of these....nice little player was going to get my nephew one for Christmas ....BUT...£6.99 p&p puts me off somewhat

It's £22.99 + 6.99 Del + VAT, where did you get the price from?

£20 minimum spend isn't it though?

Think the qualification for uncharged delivery is minimum order value of £20 + VAT = £23.
Scan withdrew this offer a while back (believed due to excessive abuse of sub-MOV) but have subsequently reinstated it.
Abuse it and lose it. :-(
