My family members don't have any issues
All depends on where you live and travel
Haven't had much trouble with a contract sim apart from getting 2 sims that wouldn't activate through the post but otherwise never had much cause to contact them. Number porting seemed to go OK (apart from the SIMS saying, no service)
On the other hand I have had reason to have dealings with them re. home broadband and their service is mostly polite but pretty shocking. Expect to wait at least 30 mins to get through to them most times of day and in my case 10 days to answer a basic online support question and basic incompetence meaning they overcharged me due to an error on the part of the retentions team. I still haven't been switched to fibre despite it being over 2 weeks ago that the new contract was agreed but they've took my direct debit in advance and sent me a fibre modem. I am now sadly outside of the 2 week cooling off period to cancel.
I think they got their USwitch customer service award out of a cracker personally as I think the plusnet.net reviews in TrustPilot are sadly more reflective of their service.
I give the customer support team a big fat zero for service anyway.
been back and forth with them since they were life, customer service was great they managed to messed up porting numbers across but gave credit for the issue but signal at 3G was terrible, then tried again last year and they were being indulged with new customers after they changed name, couldn't keep up but still ported 2 numbers quickly one sim never arrived and it took an age to get through on webchat to cancel it. Then EE had major issues in our area so left and went to Tesco but their prices weren't sustainable so went to Virgin.
Said I wouldn't go back to plusnet but after getting messed around by virgin gave them another try, service was back to the Life days, get through in seconds, port number no issues, changed plans for kids frequently when the new offers come round and they can get better deals. Been with them for about 6 months and no issues.
You cannot trust trust pilot reviews just check out john lewis and see why, people only post there when they have issues and hotdealers love john lewis.
if you are a plusnet customer you just dial them direct no need for weq4u as that doesn't use the short dial number from what I remember. Webchat on a morning normally just comes up straight to someone. on trustpilot there will be some companies but use JL as a barometer if you ask most people on here they will say their customer service is excellent second to none, wait a few weeks to black Friday and see how many of the deals suggest price matching them as their service is excellent but they get 1 star on trustpilot.
Not much experience with John Lewis but can't just use 1 company as a Barometer. My limited experience is they are a great showroom for items you can normally buy 30% cheaper elsewhere apart from their own brands e.g. white goods which I haven't found especially good, so horses for courses IMO.
