they saw you coming

This does appear to be overpriced, but more worrying is the shockingly slow write speed "upto 3Mbps"

3mbps! that means it would take about 3 hours to write 4GB!

Also, I can't state enough how bad the memorybits service is.

Waited two weeks for a compactflash card and a filler item, the CF card never came in time for my holiday, and still hadn't arrived after. The filler item arrived, but was counterfeit. They took ages to refund anything.

The price isn't great either, but even for half this I wouldn't bite: I just wouldn't expect anything in return for my money.

Stay away from these 'swivel' flash drives. My experience, I bought an 8GB one from ebay and it turned out to have corrupted all of my files and then refused to be read in mac os x for safety reasons. In XP, it did show up, but because the file system was mac only (HFS), all I could do was reformat it. It's read/write speed was only slightly higher than usb 1.1. A lot of people at my school have these from their parents' companies and they often get annoyed when it corrupts their homework.

CEX though thought it was fine and bought it for £9 cash. That was a 89p profit for me.

On the other hand.

I ordered a couple of no-brand CF cards & a few other bits & pieces from MemoryBits. A package turned up within 3 days with a delivery note stating the no-brand CF cards were no longer stocked, so they'd completed the order with the equivalent Kingston cards - all for the same price.

No complaints with their service or delivery from me.
