£125 Quidco is a fantastic cashback payment. Heat. Can't seem to find that cashback amount mentioned on Quidco though...

thank you appreciated

As commented previously this note 4 saga just keeps getting more and more confusing. Wish they would simplify the whole line up.

worth swapping my 3 year old Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for it?

I'm very tempted by this. always a lot of positive thoughts when it comes to xiaomi. so I'm thinking this phone or the umi digi plus e which is 6gb ram and 64 memory at £225 on amazon.

To avoid the unnecessary warranty charge, just change the shipping at the top right of the screen from UK to USA then when you go to checkout just put in your actual address

Quick guide to unlocking bootloader & flashing custom ROM. Assumes you can use ADB and TWRP.

Basic info here but it's less complicated than the post says. There is NO need to flash a developer ROM.

1. You will need to register with Xiaomi & create an account. Start up the phone & connect to their cloud sync service (in settings) using the account you created. Enable developer mode, USB debugging & bootloader OEM unlocking.
2. You will get a message from Xiaomi once your phone has been approved for unlocking. Many people report that they then have to wait for up to 2 weeks until their servers are updated but I managed to do it the same evening by using this earlier version of the unlock tool. Use the unlock tool to unlock it.
3. Download TWRP and flash it with fastboot. Boot to TWRP and use it to flash lazyflasher (this is needed if you are going to keep MIUI) then use it to do a full wipe. If you get any problems with TWRP not being able to mount the data partition then use it to format data.
4. Decide which custom ROM you want and flash it with TWRP, I chose AOSP (you will also need to flash the snapdragon firmware).
5. Don't forget to download & flash GAPPS & superSU zip files to complete the setup if you're on AOSP.

Can someone confirm this has a full metal body? Does it have plastic caps on top and bottom?

I'm pretty sure it will be plastic caps despite what it says above. The Snapdragon 625 Redmi Note 4 (Global & India) shares the same housing as the China Redmi Note 4X. They all have plastic top/bottom like the Redmi Note 3. It was considered a step down because the original Redmi Note 4 Mediatek was full metal.

See these links:
General SD625 Redmi Note 4 review
Redmi Note 4X
Redmi Note 4 Global - @1:48
Redmi Note 4 Indian - @0:59

This listing has used a mixture of Mediatek and Snapdragon RN4 Xiaomi stock images. The Mediatek has thick matt plastic antenna lines. The Snapdragon has thin silver antenna lines. Their 4th image is correct but the rest show Mediatek. The images used in the description are also a mix of the 2. In some of the correct stock images, the plastic caps are evident from the slightly different coloured top/bottom. It's more obvious in unboxing videos or actual photos of the phone.

This is mine (silver - or was it grey??)

Does the top and bottom feel the same as the rest of the back? It should be plastic that is coloured or painted to match the rest of the back which is metal, but it will have a slightly different colour tone, which should be noticeable if you move it about in light.

Cheers for these. I read the same thing early today. Its not a bad thing just wondered. Looking forward to the phone.

To be honest yes it feels and looks the same

Ahh - just noticed that top and bottom are different - see pics https://image.ibb.co/eucWkv/IMG_20170527_081553.jpg

I'm pretty sure they're plastic ends then. This is a side by side of the original Mediatek with Snapdragon.
https://i.gyazo.com/a05607f8c18de96f3985a517d1acc99d.png
The Mediatek (left) has full metal body and thick antenna lines so the signal can get through. Whereas for the Snapdragon, those thin shiny lines aren't actually antenna lines. They're the finishing of the edge of the metal and the signal can pass through the plastic ends instead. Xiaomi calls them CNC-finished "separation lines"

Really looking forward to this coming.
