I saw this today in store, it was a pay monthly deal rather than a pay as you go deal
Could you stick a normal sim in this or would it need a mifi sim?
Any data only sim deals to go with it?
You used to be able to cancel the contract I don't know if you still can.
i had an IPAD deal with 3 at the time and i got a midi device and took the SIM out the IPAD and i connected upto 4 devices using the 15gb.... when i checked with 3 they said it was ok as it was a salad only IPAD deal.
it says 1 month rolling contract so you can set it up and then cancel but it looks like you will act pay the 1st month and the you will be credit checked ASWELL.
You have to give 30 days notice so even on a 30 day rolling contract you would need to pay 2 monthly billing cycles with the cheapest at £12 for 2GB the minimum you'd pay for the device overall is £34. I'd rather fork out a little more for a Pay As You Go version and not have the hassle of signing up in store / credit checks and having to ring to cancel.

You're wrong mate.
30 days notice applies overall cost around £23

At least you understand how this works. This type of deal has been posted many a time, and still we get the idiots that think it is £9.99 in total.

Buy device on day 1 and give termination notice on day 1 = minimum contratual obligation of 30 days.
If cheapest monthly contract is £12, then minimum contractual cost is £12 when termination notice is given on day 1, implying overall minimum cost would be £21.99 including hardware.
I would not bother with this,i have one and the battery in it is rubbish, and it keeps switching itself of even if you have it plugged in.

The Huawei E5573 is infinitely better - battery, reception and reliability.

Those salad only iPad deals are pretty good. Wish there was more of a range to choose from though. Getting a bit fed up of Caesar.
This was a right pain to buy. I had previously bought the 32gb for £14.50 sim deal posted a few weeks back and needed this to connect my devices to. Even though I already had a contract with EE I had to pass their credit check a second time instore..then when we finally got to the end the system asked if the customer (me) already had a EE contract. Surely the system could have asked this first! bypassing any further checks. Anyway so I now had two sims active so I called to cancel the one I had got from Currys. Typical mobile company cancelled the wrong sim card so i was paying £12 for 2gb (or something) rather than the 32gb for £14.50. What a pain to sort out as now they have to call me as the bill is going to be too difficult to work out what they have/supposed to be charging when first bill arrives. Why cant they just sell the device on it's own!
This is the Osprey 2, right? Have they fixed the firmware so it doesn't go into sleep mode if you don't use it for 10 minutes? Makes it pretty much useless in my opinion unless they have. Osprey 1 is much better but unavailable.
Anyone know if you can use an Asda 4G sim with this considering they leech off EE's network?
I am all 4 GEE alright!!!

Nope they haven't, it's supposed to save battery power but they should give you a firmware update to turn this feature off so you can have the best of both worlds. Still flying the osprey 1 with that 32 deal here. You can leave the 1 plugged into a power socket and it's on permanently. Get one off ebay
32gb for 29 quids a month?

Yes I understand the deal BUT surely quoting £9.99 is misleading if the minimum outlay is £21.99, guess I'm just an idiot! I bow down to your superior knowledge and intelligence

As well is two words and isn't usually all capitals. This also applies to..... A lot and a bit.
Waste of space.

Cold.

Regards.
Voting hot to counter the idiot above.
We bought this last year and put £20 credit on for a journey to legoland from north West thinking it would do both ways. We were far from wrong. Two children playing games or watching tv and the credit was used before we arrived at the hotel. Same thing on another journey credit gone really quickly, its cheaper to link to our phones that use this.
can this be used to replace home broadband? is wifi range good?

Review the 3 network KFI. If OK with the KFI t&c, proceed to:
obtain any Android handset (unlocked to 3); 4G capability optional.
Obtain any 3 contract or PAYG SIM with 4G AYCE data (genuinely unlimited).
Install FoxFi app and buy FoxFi key at around £6.
Tether as much 4G data as your location allows (or 3G data if using non-4G handset).
Job done.
3 network KFI dated Feb 2017 here.
Foxfi app here and key here.
PAYG AYCE 4G data options at three.co.uk/Sto…_Go
or SIMO AYCE 4G data options at three.co.uk/Sto…nes

No, because of the problem of it turning off when not used for a few minutes - even when permanently connected to power. You'll very quickly get fed up with having to go to the device and turn it back on every time you want to use broadband. It's an incredibly stupid design.
crap box keeps getting sims jammed in it
Expried. Now £14.99
