Really good quality, highly reviewed 4K HDMI cable with 73% off in Amazon deals today.
I have this cable already although didn’t get it this cheap and can vouch for its quality.
Also worth noting that with this deal it’s actually cheaper than its 1M counterpart.

No such thing as a '4K cable', or even 'HDMI 2.0' cable as other folks have been saying. HDMI 2.0 is a port spec, not a cable spec. There are only 'high speed' or standard cables. Pretty much every cable manufactured since 2012 has been high speed. After checking it's high speed, the only features of a cable worth worrying about are the length and price!
You don't need a special cable for 4k. Rip off

£5 seems pretty cheap for a HDMI 2.0 Cable

That was more the point, very good HDMI Cable for £5.05.. and the 3M is currently the same price
Just need a cable to be 18gbps, don't fall for the 4k marketing
Just needs to be HDCP and 2.0-2.2 that’s it

HDMI 2.0 supports the lot wether it’s a £1 or a £100 cable.

Cheaper than the one that comes with the equipment you buy?
Just as good as any other generic cable made in the same factory as this. Never cost £29.99 but probably fine for £5 and you have Amazon’s CS if it goes bad I guess.
They haven't even bothered to get "Premium Certified" so no different to the hundreds of other generic, we promise they will be fine, cables. I did spend a little more on certified cables as I had issue with some generics. Either look for that certification or go Amazon Basics.

4k is irrelevant 18Gbps is important as I have some cables that don't work properly with 4k PS4 pro. The screen keeps going black with old hdmi cable
hi all, this is interesting. I just bought a new TV in the easter bank holiday sale which is a 4K TV, (delivery this Saturday)

my AV receiver also supports 4K. I was wondering if I should upgrade the cable. my current TV is 9 years old, and I think at that time the cable went up to 1080p or slightly higher. I can't remember. im trying to find the specs of that particular cable.

should I be upgrading the cable? cable will be linking the AV to the TV

thanks

There are HDMI 2.0 cables on eBay with £2. Good quality as well.
This seems to be a good place to ask for advice. I’ve got sound system connected to my tv. I play movies through it and music streamed from my phone or on Amazon prime music. But the sound isn’t as good, or as loud , as it used to be. My previous cable (optical?) broke and I bought another. What would be the best type to get so I can maximise the potential of my system? Any advice will be appreciated!
But this one has gold connections which give better picture quality
I remember friend of mine fell for that when he bought one with his Apple TV. he still gets ribbed for it
I often wonder why it is that people when asking for advice feel the need to give a little information as they possibly can, making an answer to their question completely impossible.

Many of the cheaper ones I've bought have had cheapo connectors which have either fallen out, or worse come loose and then intermittently failed causing a flash across the screen. A nice thick cable with a decent connector is worth paying a tiny bit more for (in my own experience).

There you go, £1.5 free delivery: ebay.co.uk/itm…-~j

Not my fault you don't know how internet works.
You also realize that Amazon only offers free delivery if you buy for at least £20?
And if you are willing to pay 350% more for a cable just because it's 'braided', go ahead.

That cheap crap isn’t comparable. I wasn’t asking in a nasty way but given your reply just jog on you moron. You look like one as well.
If you are near a Richer Sounds store, see if they have these in stock: richersounds.com/tv-…tml for £2.9933575167-2FZio.jpg
Definitely worth £2.99 and puts the cable at around the same price as cheap ones.
Simply not true that all HDMI cables are created equal. A PS4 Pro + 4K HDR TV and a need for a cable more than 2metres (the supplied was too short) is a quick way to learn that lesson. I must have tried half a dozen different leads with differing results in the handshake between devices (either no signal or no HDR depending on settings). Would advise getting a Premium Certified where possible.

While this is true, for image and sound, the construction quality of Poundland cables is atrocious. You can feel with your fingers the wires inside. Would pay £1.5 on eBay for a decent one.

What model for TV? What model for audio system?

What model for TV? What model for audio system?

It’s a Samsung tv and also a Samsung sound system.
What is HDMI 2.1? Are new or different cables required for that? A guy in Apple Store said something along the lines of 48gbps hdmi lead being required for HDR 10 and Dolby Vision transmission from the ATV 4K to a 4K TV.

He told me still to go online and find one though, as oppose to trying to flog me one in the store so seemed some what more legit lol
