Is IP54 sufficient for outdoor use?? Thought you need IP66…5 means dust ingress is not prevented. 4 means only protection against spray not even splash. Let along torrential rain/snow build up

Seems to be a lot of money for just a wifi function. You technically can just use any GU10 smart bulb in IP66 casing and save some money…? (edited)
    4x GU10 smart bulbs £33+
    2x up down fittings ~£30

Used Amazon for pricing. Can you suggest some links to make it work out cheaper?

(Genuinely asking, I'm looking to fit 6-8 outdoor lights)

I have these, they are nice looking lights, but the Wiz bulbs are a massive pain in the arse. Really hard to set-up, I had to move my WiFi extender really close to the bulbs. My four bulbs are on one physical switch, so if I needed to reset any one of the bulbs, I had to do all four! Once set-up, they do keep dropping off the WiFi, usually one bulb about once a day!
I have a few smart bulbs and lots of smart plugs in the Tapo range, these are rock solid WiFi wise, so once the Tapo GU10 bulbs become cheap, I shall replace the Wiz bulbs with Tapo ones.
Thank god it's not just me having this issue. I am in the process of getting all 18 of mine replaced under warranty but unless they updated the firmware such that they would auto reconnect when dropped off or have a stronger transmitter so it doesn't drop off, i will be returning them. I have tried moving them indoors but they still drops like flies!

if they were smart they would be indoor Up Down Wall Lights because it's getting cold outside

The fittings are ok but I wouldn't bother with Wiz smart bulbs. Bought nine fittings and 18 smart bulbs. Keeps going offline randomly in the order of at least 1-2 a day. Once they go offline they won't reconnect unless you turn it off and on with your physical light switch. Been discussing with tech support for weeks going round in circles. (edited)
Out of interest, are they fairly close to good WiFi signal?

Just had this put up on Friday, can’t complain as of yet! Have had a play with the various colours available!

I thought of something for the wii

So it’s the bulbs that are smart, not the lights? Meaning a bulb goes and you’re out of luck unless you can get replacements. Edit: replacements are approx £28 for four.

4 led colour changing led bulbs to fit this cost £15: eBay, Inc remote not WiFi, let's you set each bulb to a different colour if required (edited)
Missing the point of smart bulbs though. Routines, security, automation etc

You could just use a Sonoff to turn ordinary ones on and off for about £5.. it won't change the colour though.

Have 6 of these outside work great.

And 26 spotlights indoor no issues at all
