Lowest Amazon UK price this 4TB Seagate Iron Wolf drive. Great for NAS, or even for folks looking for a reliable drive.

Cracking price for that drive, a good £5 below the going rate.
Did you say reliable drive and aim it at a Seagate product. Especially on one larger than 250GB.
The Easter bunny, Seagate haters will be along soon

Personally I voted hot.
Been waiting for this to come back on amazon and drop, so thanks OP
So the question is- is it worth £15 more for the WD red?
Over the years I have seen many Seagate's fail ...whereas I have only ever seen a couple of WD's fail.

I can tell you that I don't have many Seagates around me anymore

Hence the point

Thanks
I'd be cautious about buying from amazon, they're usually oem versions meaning no box and if they're packed poorly they'll be battered during shipping

I was looking up 8tb wd reds and reviews seem to suggest the hdds were not covered by wd warranty because they were imports. I ended up buying directly from wd to be safe

Recently bough a Toshiba drive from Amazon and It came fully packaged.
i.e. Not shaking around in the box that a lot of buyers have reported and even sent back for that reason.
Cold it's not WD

we cannot see why it happened to you mate..

well.. if the drive is faulty, contact Amazon and they sort it out amazingly.
same comes to import.
just buy from Amazon, not from marketplace.

Same here... I build PCs and Seagate have let me down more than most... especially on 24/7 use. Infact I just lost a raid with 2 samsung 2TB drives, only 5 years old. I didn't get a SMART warning - gutted.
The most reliable HHDs I've used have been Hitachi, then Toshiba; Samsung then Seagate.
Additionally, be careful if you're buying as a business expense if you're VAT registered. Some of the sellers are NOT charging VAT as they're based in USA so you can't claim any VAT back from HMRC. Technically, therefore, the cost is higher than higher priced sellers who do charge VAT.
Check out the reviews on that amazon page. Fro a variety of seagate drives (amazon often carries reviews to slightly different units) 12% 1 star ratings. Backblaze publish fail rates and these can only be for last year.

Need 4 drives for my NAS but Amazon will only sell you 3 as they have limited purchases of them (with no reorders for a month).
