Is that a low heat green drive?

You can, but it wouldn't do much good - the drive firmware is allegedly crippled and doesn't support AHCI.

Does it matter? It's obviously designed to run at safe temperatures in it's caddy and supports usb3 so will run just as fast as sata in yer case

Would you really need to? USB3 will run it just as fast as internal SATA

Of course it matters, I'm looking for a high capacity replacement for my HD dune media player otherwise I wouldn't be asking. USB has nothing to do with it - stop making assumptions and defending your link.

I think most people buying 4TB drives aren't just looking for £/GB, and this just isn't the same type of product

I think most folk are simply expanding their PCs storage, and don't really care much where the drive is. Besides, I'm not your mummy, you speak as if I'm telling you which you have to buy. Get what ever you want/need. No one cares.

That's a lot of data to lose in one drive crash

I use 4tb internal drives and each one is backed up to an external 4tb drive which is kept off site. Yes, a drive will likely fail at some point so I make sure I have a shadowing copy.

Yes you're right no cares, except you judging by the way you had to answer *everyone* else's question with a sarcastic comment. If you don't understand then don't answer an innocent question. The most amusing thing here is that the link you provided that you're so desperately defending isn't even your own.
