Not worth risk. I got one of them month ago and died after a day. Just pure luck.

6 months.
I've had three 2TB recertified drives in my NAS for over a year.

Comes with a 6 month warranty. I've bought 6 or so, shucked them and had no issues with them so far, coming up to 8 months I think now? So yes its risky cause more prone to failure, but your luck may vary.
Had 2 of these plugged into the iMac for the last 2 years....no worries at all:{
can u take harddrive out of these and use in a laptop?

These are 3.5" drives - too big for your laptop.
Good deal, bought 2. Here's hoping they last!
Bought one 4TB like this a year ago, also refurbished...is running flawless since then as a backup drive on my main PC. Also bought a 3TB one (refurbished too) that i use on my xbox one.....all good for like 6 months.
MyCloud range are back in stock too, got one alongside my MyBookLive.

No risk as long as your all backed up as one should with any hdd.

Had plenty recertified drives before, no issues and you would spend up to double on a new one of this size with hdd pricing as bad as it is.

Great price, heated...

As due to the nature of them being recertified, they aren't always in stock. I agree it can get a bit annoying, but it is a useful notification to tell people when they're in stock.

Exactly.

Personally, I've been on the lookout for the 4TB drives for a while, and I doubt I'm the only one. Seemed only fair to spread the news.
Great deal and perfect where data isn't absolutely critical like Xbox One game installs. Thanks OP

So what's the problem? If it died after a day then that would have left you with loads of time to return it.
The first thing I'm going to do when I get mine is continuously benchmark/stress test for 10-15 days straight. Going to do everything in my power to break them before the guarantee runs out.
Nice super cheap deal before the train wreck called Brexit hits. Stock up while you can!

Well at least you're proof of reincarnation, well done.
Perfect drive for all of my XBOX One digital games.
Many thanks.

Was it WD greens inside when you opened them up?

I'd love to know the drives too inside!

Sorry should have said. The recertified drives are stripped of the color classification, they are white labelled with a new serial after being recertified. So I couldn't tell you for sure what color, but compared to the new ones ive bought and shucked which were blue, they have the same specs so I think the ones I got were originally blue. Not 100% sure though.
good deal i paid as much for a 3 tb
Sames a great price as back ups to my other drives.

Thanks for the info on the drives inside.

Did you bench them with CrystalDisk by any chance? Or if not what speeds do they stay at when say transferring a 10gb file each time?

Thanks

Details of exactly how you stress test your drives would be much appreciated! Would like to do something similar to mine when it arrives.

How delightful. A nerd answer for a low price of £67 which is peanuts followed with some lefty comment. Completely wrong as well because no one knows until we're out of Europe. Must be young and just come out of school.

The 2TB drives inside recertified My Cloud units are relabelled WD Reds - they also have the black and white label but it does say NASware on them.

It'll likely be too late by then, but I will report back once my order arrives.

£67 Might be peanuts for YOU but not everyone can afford one even at this price. Once we leave the EU you watch the price of tech creep up and stay up for a very long time, and when that happens I've got a feeling you're going to blame everything on earthquakes in Asia to supply and demand for NAND or whatever excuse you can dream up next. Yay youv'e got your blue passport back. Awesome!

Might not be the most strenuous of tests, but I ran the 'Extended Test' and 'Write Zeros' on each drive from the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

Here are some example tests i just ran on two 4TB (top) and two 5TB (bottom)

I can confirm all My cloud drives are WD reds recertified ones would have the white labels on them like you said but they should be Reds , if not Open a WD case , digital river will just ask you to return them where as WD will try to give you a better solution
