Thanks for the welcome... I love this site, thought it was about time I contributed

I stayed in this resort in April. The hotel was really nice and the all inclusive deal is awesome and includes alcohol. Drinks are pretty dear in the bars of Marmaris (around £4-5 for a glass of wine). Only downside I can think of is the half hour walk to the centre.

We hired a car to go to Ephesus and Pammukale. This involved 800km drive over 2 days. Petrol in Marmaris is about £1.50 a litre! WTF!!

I've been looking togo to Marmaris, annd trying to get a late deal for a ingle person.
I have been to Turkey about 4 times, never Maramris thou.
I notice that the drinks when I went back in 2007, where considerly dear to that when I went prior.

From what it has been said onMarmaris forums, its about 4-5TL, which is about 2quid.

Anyone else got any info. As I like to know my budget.

local beer wasnt too bad it was about 5 lira. I think its called Tyskie and its not bad (they sell bottles of it in wetherspoons). Anything imported was double that. The cheapest wine was about £20 a bottle. It was over a tenner in the supermarkets. Iv been to Gumbet and Side too. Excursions in Marmaris were a lot cheaper. We did horse riding for a couple of hours and that was only £18. Dont book from the hotel though as the reps theyre will charge double compared to the shops around the centre.

Isn't Efes the local beer? It comes in a cool bottle and tastes great in my opinion. I will always buy a bottle if Isee it in a supermarket/pub in the UK.

Hey yep you're right! Tyskie is Polish lol. They have both in spoons tho

how would anyone who's been rate it for families?

Also, are the agents ok? Never heard of them...

is this hotel any good for a couple with an 18 month baby?

Yep, I was there last week, Efes is the only beer I drank, and I drank quite a lot!

Turkey is getting quite expensive, petrol around £150/l eating out can cost a packet, we spent 220 lire (just under £100) on a very average meal for 6 in Cesme, a few years back it would have been £30.

Also, I'm a percussionist and wanted to buy a new Turkish drum in an Ismir market, in the end I didn't bother, can buy the same drum cheaper here!

That's galloping inflation for you!

So this deal looks really good.............

What is the average temperature in October?

cant comment on this resort, but we went to the marmaris area a couple of years ago.
while the place is decent enough we found some of the locals to be very annoying & rude. Every few feet someone was trying to sell us something, if we ignored them there was usually a rude comment.

Turkey is definatly not somewhere im ever planning to return too.

Love it !!

We went to this resort last October. The weather was fantastic for most of the fortnight, although it did rain for one whole day. The sea is a lovely temperature that time of year and we all went scuba diving for around £20 each, using the company that comes round the hotel. Well worth doing.

The food is pretty much the standard all inclusive buffet, but each evening meal there was meats and veg cooked fresh outside by the chefs which was lovely (kebabs, chicken, fish, etc). The hotel is ideal for familes as they have 3 or 4 water slides into the pools, but be warned it can make for a fair bit of noise. Oh, and the Russians and Germans do put their towels out early as always (despite the signs saying not to!) but we always found somewhere to lay. The nearest beach is about 10-15 mins away and was deserted most of the time and the sea is crystal clear and stays fairly shallow. Great for snorkelling.

As for eating out, about 1 in 3 of the bars and restaurants are closed in October and to get a cheaper meal we went down the side streets to the no frills cafes that the local taxi drivers use - great food and very cheap.

I'd recommended this place.

Not gonna do anything rash and book this now. Deffinitly mulling this over.

HEAT good find

Is this company reliable? i'm very interested!

Not to me.

Does no one know anything about this agent at all? Just looked at the reviews i WOULD NOT BOOK WITH THIS AGENT!!

Seems a good deal, shame it's for Marmaris.. it really is the Blackpool of Turkey.

Seems good deal thanks very much and welcome to HUKD!!

I wouldn't book with this company either. The reviews are pretty bad and I had similar problems with another company also found on icelolly called imperial travel. Never again. Have a google and make your own mind up. Don't be fooled with these great looking deals as there's a high chance you'll be paying extra.

Cracking deal and I've added heat but I can't stand Turkey.

I stayed here a couple of years back, was a pretty good place, obviously dont expect UK 5* standards but its one of the nicest hotels in turkey ive been to, free drinks 24 hours a day. cant be bad. Can be pretty noisy with the discos and music but has loads of things for kids to do and a great spa which is really good value with a bit of negotiating!

I completely agree with you there mate. We got back from this resort 2 weeks ago and NEVER AGAIN. Turkey is beautiful and yes it used to be cheap but it is expensive now. This resort the green nature is chavvy, and loud and i wouldnt go there is i was paid to go, my daughter went to hopsital because she slipped on the dangerous flooring and i saw other people fall too even an old woman. Me, my husband and mum came home with stomach aches too, if you are going to Turkey i think the antalya region is the best. Also it is not a 5* more a 3*

I'm going to Bodrum Monday and cant wait its my 4th time in Turkey and the one thing i will say to those that hate it is if you go to a bad resort the first time you go you wont want to ever go back. The first time i went it was to Cesme and i hated every minute of it one street of shops nothing to do, I swore I'd never go to Turkey again but after around 5years i was talked into giving it a second chance this time i went to Bodrum and i loved it, loads to do excellent night life fantastic place and Gumbet a stone throw away for a Blackpool night out.

Marmaris tends to be a little in your face with rude shop owners and inflated prices i went for a day trip and that wasn't enough time to have a good look round but we walked most the town and had a meal which was very expensive and it took them 1h30mins to serve us.

I wouldn't advise going to Turkey in October its end of season weather can be bad and shops and stuff to do closes for the winter. Last year we went to Bodrum on the 6th September the day the kids went back to school so it was a little quieter than the main school holidays but was still high season and the weather was great 30c every day it rained with thunder in the middle of one night but soon cleared up but we where told that was the first time in nearly 6months but was told that this was the case as the season began to wind down and that October could be bad.

I went to this resort twice last year and will hopefully return later this year.
For stay for 2 weeks in may/june the weather was very hot (32 to 38 degrees)and it was the same for our 10 day stay in Aug/Sept. There were plenty of choices with food and yes Efes was the beer served.
Yes I do agree with the other comment that Marmaris is the Blackpool of Turkey but this resort is in Sitiler on the outskirts of main Marmaris away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort.
while it is advertised as a five star there are 2 parts to it. neither of which is up to our 5 star system in the uk. The star system in Turkey is based on their own flag system. There is the resort side which is where you generally end up staying when you pay at bargain prices such as the price shown in the posting. Then there is the hotel side which costs a lot more. With both you all get use of the same facilities and food.
What I can say is it is very clean and welcoming.

Looks like they will sell you this hotel, then at the last minute switch it to another useless hotel and sever all contact with you. Avoid like the plague. Too good to be true.

Yah avoid this company and imperial travel. USELESS

Stayed in this hotel in April for a week.

Really enjoyed our stay and the hotel is great. Food practically around the clock, drinks all day. Good facilities.

Please don't take any notice of all the whinging on tripadvisor. Really cannot believe some people on there....£280 all in is a bargain.
