Has anybody stayed here? We're seriously considering booking it, but the reviews are some of the most mixed I've ever seen when researching hotels!

For 1 person a 55l bag is plenty! Only ever got checked in luggage once, the ex insisted, I ended up putting my cabin bag inside mine and just used it to transport gifts home. Did Gozo last year and Kos in June no issues, off to the Azores in October for a hiking holiday and again won't be a problem.

Lol, yup!
Seriously though, in Kos I took 8 sets of underwear, 8 tshirts, 3 pairs of shorts, a pair of trousers, a towel plus all the usual toiletries etc. plus I also took a full face snorkel and an action camera, portable battery, phone charger etc. and had room to spare. Maybe it's because I used to camp a lot?

you shouldnt be offering advice.

October is never going to see those 26 degree temperatures past 4pm if you get lucky. You will be frozen with nothing to do in Didim which will be closed for winter so expect crap food at the hotel and watered down brandy. Total waste of money and voted hot by people who have no clue. This must be a deal posted by Holiday Pirates themselves. Nobody in their right mind would snap at this.

Could you perhaps elaborate as to why tek-monkey shouldn’t be offering his opinion on how to pack light - which is of course unrelated to the deal. It’s just his opinion about saving money on checked baggage. Just like it’s your opinion that the deal is rubbish. So you are allowed to give ‘advice’ but he isn’t?
Because I have dual nationality and lived in Turkey for 25 years and only a Muppet would go lightweight in October/winter to Didim
Cold
Nothing wrong with Turkey, it's a beautiful country, though I'd be tempted to go to the Antalya region in October. Other resorts maybe too cold and dead.

Stayed in Qala, just near Zeppis pub. Loved the place, would go back in a heartbeat too!
Ye zeppis is a great little place for a few well earned drinks haha, always busy and plenty locals

Much prefer gozo to Malta just the right pace haha
I was actually looking at some cheap flights the other day, very tempting but booked the azores instead as not been there.

Highs of 23 and lows of 16? Yeah, must be freezing. I can do a week in Wales in October with a 55l bag, sure I could easily survive Turkey (terrorists permitting).

I travel regularly to USA and have never been asked to declare that I’ve been to Turkey, in fact I can only recall one occasion where they actually looked at the pages in my passport. So for the benefit of those that might have been scared by this comment - Turkey is an EU country and unless you snuck over the border to Afghanistan, the fact you went there for a holiday and are now coming to visit Disneyland will be of no interest to US immigration. With the esta system they know who you are and all about you and your travels before you get on the plane. They would refuse or refer an ESTA if they had concerns.
