5% discount on 1st class stamps until December 24th @ Superdrug instore

Superdrug are doing their 5% discount on first class stamps again this year.

Maximum of 72 stamps per day per person until 24th December 2012.

Given the cost of postage, this could be a good saving.

Superdrug is currently offering 5% off first class stamps in stores nationwide.

After the price hike in April, first class stamps now cost 60p, meaning that's discounted to 57p each with this offer.

You can buy up to 72 stamps per person, per day.

The saving isn't huge, but discounted stamps are rare, and if you're bulk buying, that's when the saving can add up.

Maybe a good deal if you've already run out the ones you stockpiled last april before the price rises.

Those price rises were so ridiculous though, I went all in on them and probably have enough stamps to last a couple of years.
To get an item from 1 end of the country to another, next day, is as little as 60p.

I think people dont realise how cheap it really is.
Or 10%+ off plus Quidco with no maximum sales quantity on eBay.

Good deal for a granny with no computer though...

Yes but to send something 26mm thick weighing 10g on the same journey costs £2.20, around twice what the same package cost before the price hike. A letter or card might be cheap, but I can send much larger items for significantly lower amounts via a different firm, who still manage to make a profit.

Or grab a granny and get her to buy at last year's prices .

Other options include Trains, Planes, Cars or Boats so it is cheep as hell to send items compared to the alternative

No you cant, your talking rubbish. anything below 2kg is usually always cheaper and certainly quicker with royal mail. Royal mail is a fantastic service really . if you want to save and you post more than 3 letters a day , get a franking machine, it saves you a fortune. Please dont come back with crap as i post over 7000 parcels and large letters a year. royal mail rarely lose items, its scum that say it hasnt arrived.

I don't think people really gaf how "cheap" it actually is, if they can save some money then why wouldn't they want to?

Exactly. I'm a Subpostmaster, and have to put up with whinging and whining every day from (UK) people who have NO idea how much work is involved...blah blah...our European customers can't understand why we are complaining..not only do our Royal Mail give a fine service, compared with other European countries, we are actually amongst the cheapest, for everyday mail..
Aside from this, I haven't yet looked into how "Superdrug" are able to purchase stamps from the Royal Mail at such a cut-price??? As a Post Office I have to sell stamps at exactly the same price the Royal Mail send them to me, otherwise I would end up bankrupt pretty quickly..I believe the "General Public" have absolutely no idea of a) costs involved for sending UK mail; b) the fact that Post Offices can't compete with outlets such as Superdrug for stamp prices...the mind boggles...
tut tut saving only 3p oO
