Not a fantastic phone and it has too little storage space but it is likely to be a fairly vanilla Android experience, has a 5inch screen and is only £79.95 sim-free! Also Dual SIM. Only very slightly more than the Archos 45 deal at Saverstore posted recently for a much bigger screen. Also comes with interchangeable cover if that's your kind of thing. So...not great, but it IS cheap. Don't expect to get Lollipop though...

Reviews on Argos are fairly positive however.

Dual-Sim support, The flexibility of Dual-Sim card support in the Archos 50 Neon lets you manage two provider networks simultaneously, bringing your two mobile subscriptions together for work and personal on the same phone.

Never seen any Archos item that lasted more than a couple of months

I've lost count of all the descriptions on the Argos website that state "Full HD screen". This phone wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the 512MB RAM. A minimum of 1GB is needed these days.

I've got quite a few of their bits ('cos I'm a skin flint, not cos I work for them!!!) and they all still work, although I did have to return an old MP3 player I had under warranty because the battery expanded! And I have an MP3 player/camcorder that I bought (well got as a present) back around 2006/7 still going strong although I bought a new battery for it recently as that was definitely showing its age.

I'm not going to say they're brilliant and I won't be leaving my Moto G 2013 for this phone, but I would buy Archos again if the price is right!

512MB RAM is OK, but not great I grant you - more recent versions of Android are more optimised for lower specs ironically...

But it's SEVENTY-NINE POUNDS! :-)

I won one of these at the showcase cinema shockingly bad

You say that like this is a good deal. It isn't. You can pick up a Moto G often for £80, which has twice as much RAM, guaranteed updates, will last much longer, a real chipset and an HD screen.

You should avoid this thing.

Argos purchasers gave it 4.6 out of 5 average score... clearly it's never going to beat a Galaxy S5 or an iPhone 6 but maybe you are being a bit harsh.

Point me to a 5inch Moto G for £80 please, I'd be most grateful.

Clearly you are not working for Archos. lol

no seriously it is really bad! like i say i won it so i have no axe to grind at all, but this is never a £50+ phone and to call it a smart phone is prob breaking trades description act!!

512mb is bad you will get issues for apps etc and every new phone that's being made are getting 1gb

512mb are more like Chinese makers
