Don't even ask what the cocktails cost. The beaches are boring, it's too windy and the place has zero character. So many better places to go for the money. The only thing we liked was the waterpark at the hotel.

You've been 4 times and didnt think to do research on the culture? Respect the law of the land, the same say one would expect visitors here to respect our laws.

This is All-inclusive. 1.5 million Brits visit the UAE every year. Having been twenty or thirty times I have never known Dubai to be 'windy'. I am not sure what a beach has to do to not be 'boring'.

Of course I did my research, we're very well travelled and I can't understand why anyone would choose to go here, it's awful.

Anywhere that doesn't allow a woman to hold the hand of their husband will never ever ever ever get approval from me.

Flights to AUH are frequently cheaper.

See this travala. U used them before ???? No atol and no abta I was looking at that zabeel seray.
Ignore the odd moaner, Dubai is fantastic for young families particularly and there I lots to do everyone . The hotels provide 5 star plus service and it’s really good value compared with holidaying in Europe. We’ve stayed at Atlantis twice and Dar Al Masyaf once. Where else can you get a family holiday for 4, half board with over 20 restaurants to choose from, for £3ishk?
during term time???? That’s the average price we have paid each time for 7 nights!

Arrested for holding your hand?
No alcohol except the hotel?
It’s too windy?
Better places to go for the money? Let me guess Magaluf? Ibiza? Skegness?

Sounds like someone just wants to rant on Christmas day! I’ve gone every single year for the last 10 years and never encountered a single problem.
Great place to travel to, you'll feel 10x safer in Dubai than in London!

All guesses wrong. In the past few years we've been to Caribbean, Florida (every year), California, Singapore, Thailand, China, India, Australia,Lanzarote, Cyprus and in 8 days we're off to New Zealand.

I stand by my comments, the country is oppressive and has no character. I refuse to take my daughter somewhere like that, it is not female friendly and thus not family friendly.

I agree with the lack of character the place is plastic! I also hate to remind people this hotels and buildings are built by modern day slaves.

Drug related deaths per capita UK 50/1,000,000. UAE Dubai 6/1,000,000. It is a hotel deal. You either visit the place or not. Most people are adult enough to consider for themselves whether factors outweigh experience and do not need the social commentary of a random 'contributor'

So you never liked it and have been six times!!. If you don't like the laws of the land no one is forcing you to go. It is like all those British idiots caught smuggling drugs in countries where they will get death penalty for such thing and when they get caught they, and the media, start criticising the Judicial system and corruption bla bla bla. If you want to take your chances with something dangerous, don't cry when you get caught.

First time was my honeymoon, four times were for work and I do have to go for that and the other time we didn't think our kids could handle a 26hr flight to Australia so we did a stop over.

I don't get why on earth you've brought drugs into this. I respect culture to an extent, in Thailand my wife had to cover up in a religious temple for example and that we thought was fine, but the laws in Dubai are extreme, I mean no holding hands is crazy, we even got a taxi and the driver refused to let her sit in the front.

This guy seem to be fun, chatting away like this on Christmas day,I,m now off to have some Christmas family time,I might even hold hands with my wife.
I’ve been Dubai and to be fair it’s been my best holiday, not sure what this guy is on about.
I’ve recommended everyone that I know to go because there is no other place in the world like Dubai.
Thing is some people rather go to Dover , just different kind of people.

Merry Xmas

If you did your research you would have read the reviews. It's not the place for drinking. I've been over 20 times and love it. So safe and clean and great for families. Value for money. A great place to experience real 5 * at a reasonable price, if you don't drink. The holding hand thing is a red herring and you must have been unlucky or something else. If u like the man made Vegas feel then this is the place.

Families are treated as a priority in the taxi and airport queues. There are pink taxis for women that feel more comfortable with a woman driver, there are family only areas in restaurants to avoid boytrous groups. So it's all a matter of perspective.

Well firstly let me know where exactly In Dubai you went to get your wife arrested for holding hands - because if that is the case - I want to go the exact same place and IF by chance my wife gets arrested - I will name Dubai the greatest country the face of the earth and return immediately with my mother in law .

Total claptrap. Holding yr partners hand doesn't get u arrested. Its a myth. Alcohol is only served in hotels, everyone knows this. The locals don't drink! Agree with the prices... It is expensive, that's my only gripe. I've been a few times, all depends on what yr expectations are. Beaches and water is ultra clean and tidy, the ones on the palm are very peaceful and quiet. The service in some of these resorts is outstanding as well as the food and drink on offer.
