Is Jam a flavour? It is in a Stewart Lee routine. His dad likes all different types of jam......plain...

The best supermarket doughnuts!!

Agree with that as defo the best ones, my local has been hit and miss recently though as some batches have been dead heavy full of grease as normally dead light
i bought this a few weeks ago and it tasted really nice so i bought it again a few days ago and the vanilla filling tasted really bad. i don't think it has gone off but it tasted very medicinal. i won't be buying this again.
Custard or nothing!
And vanilla custard

Morrison's can be very good fresh ... but really depends on the branch you use.
Had a Tesco custard doughnut yesterday 🤢
Morrison's are way better. They're doughnut game is in a totally different league.

Sorry.
Asda use an awful powder sugar, these ones are proper sugar and the best supermarket ones IMO!

Totally agree I've loved these for years tried other supermarkets but nothing comes close to Sainsburys jam donuts
not bad at all considering the sugar ring ones are now up to £1 for 5
Supermarket Sainsbury’s has different than local Sainsbury’s.. local has frozen one but supermarket makes fresh... both are good but local has best quality

Glad I’m not the only one. My last batch of custard ones the dough was so dense which put me off. Might see if there are jam ones to try tomorrow.
Thought these are always 50p at Morrisons anyway
OP you can turn the watermark off in your camera settings.
OOOOOh I love em , Sainsgogs Jam Doughnuts are the best.

Wrong, most of the supermarkets make them from scratch every day.

All locals and a few supermarkets have them come in frozen.

The stores that have frozen ones, are currently unavailable as there was a factory fire a few weeks ago. We used our last yesterday.

That's because there was a factory fire, the ring ones are no longer made in store as they could never get consistency across the company. They're unavailable to order until the factory is back up and running.
How do they knock up donuts for 50p?

It's icing sugar vs caster sugar basically.
The icing sugar morrisons use tends to be less sweet.
So if a sweetness and texture from grainy sugar is your bag then you'll prefer sainsbury's.
Please lets not start a frikin war over donuts people.

Nah. Lidl's are the only ones that aren't dripping with grease.
Same price in Morrisons. Freshly made each day.

Also the Morrisons ones are accidentally vegan too

Maybe for you if you eat them by the pack!!

For most people enjoying 1 from a pack, no probs
They are the best as all other supermarkets use icing suger instead now, what the hell is that about

I’ll try them again when back from holiday to see if any different as only ever had 2 bad batches and they were just heavy instead of light.

I'd agree that Lidl donuts are the best, but then their bakery goods are the best. Hands down. For the price point though, five donuts for 50p I'm still with Morrisons. Icing sugar all the way.
We had the Morrisons raspberry doughnuts on Thursday, was disappointed that it appeared to be raspberry sauce rather than jam in the middle.
