These Home Bargain deals are as bad as Tesco deals: I spend time going to the local stores but they never exist or they are at full price!

Awesome deal.. I'll the missus to check at my local store today, she'll probably come back with olive oil tho
This makes great cooking oil , especially roast spuds on a Sunday makes em really crispy.
5w30 was the same price couple of weeks ago, presume its still the same. 5w30 is normally more expensive than 5w40.
If its the same oil as last time its, the 'S' seems to stand for synthetic:

PRO S300 for the 5w30
PRO S400 for the 5w40

I wonder if its cheap in home bargains because its perhaps been replaced by PRO S1300(5w30) and S1700(5w40).

Was £7.99 at times in my local Home Bargains (Caerphilly) for both 5w30 - fully synthetic and 5w40 - semi synthetic.

Got stock in at Uttoxeter (Staffs) branch today - I've bought loads over the past few weeks and got plenty in stock for future. Nice stuff
I saw these in the Worcester Shrub Hill branch, but there were two variants:

£7.99 5W30 Part Synthetic ACEA A1/B1, API SL/CF, Ford WSS-M2C, 912A/913A/913B, Ilsac GF-3.

£9.99 5W30 Fully Synthetic ACEA A3/B4, API SL/CF, Vauxhall-Opel GM-LL-A-025 & GM-LL-B-025

I know what ACEA and API specs are, and the Ford/Vauxhall specific codes, but I don't know anything about the other codes.

The cans had been mixed up on the shelf by staff who just see the 5W30 bit, so be sure you choose the right one for your car, otherwise it could cost you more than the £2 difference!

Modern engines need very specific oils to maintain them correctly, so unless you are 100% sure this is right for you, exercise extreme caution!

That said, they are a good bargain if they are right for your car.
