£5 off £30 spend at lidl with daily star (also accepted at tesco)

£5 off £30 spend at lidl with daily star (also accepted at tesco)

all this week (guess friday is last voucher day not sure) the daily star is running a 5 off 30quid spend in lidl voucher valid up until the 31st august.
cut out the voucher and present to cashier who by magical means will deduct £5 off your total spend as long as you have £30 worth there.
also can be used in tesco - if they refuse it they haven't been trained properly just ask to check with supervisor its a long running policy.

(perfect for stocking up on fudge brownie frijjs!)

Moved to deals as this is not quite a voucher in and of itself. Thanks.

There's no way in hell I'm buying that disgusting homophobic rag, is this in the Express too? I'd rather catch up on the Diana conspiracy or who's kidnapped Maddie this week.

You could always cut out the voucher and use the rest as emergency toilet paper ;-)

does it say on the voucher that it can be used at tesco?

Probably not but most Tescos ive ever been to they have banners leading into the car park saying we also accept other supermarket coupons, and why not there still gaining extra money so good move

The hardest part of this is actually spending 30 quid at lidl

is says £25 on the front of the paper

No, but Tesco take conditional spend coupons from competitors. I used one yesterday without problem.

Always wise to check at customer service on way in though, cos some store managers are useless and don't know their own policy.

Thats why i use them at Tesco - clothes, electrical items etc, aswell as food.

yeah, if you are going lidl that and the 6packs of pepsi/tango for a quid are some of the best to stock up on.
otherwise just go buy stuff from tesco - visit as many times as you need then go again a week(ish) later and repeat on monday.

yep
each paper (25p) = one voucher

tesco do take these coupons they take all kinds now even farmfood, netto, aldi etc

 Tesco do & should take these conditional spend vouchers as it is their policy to........BUT! Head office fail to inform store managers of the correct protocol , leaving staff on the shop floor confused as to whether or not they can or cannot accept them. Worse still it is embarasssing when they refuse to take them & you've just put a large shop through the checkout. It's happened to me!!! but I stood my ground....it takes guts....keep your cool....and demand they follow their Tesco policy! it worked for me. (Alternatively if they don't budge, leave shopping on the belt & tell them you'll give Lidl your custom!) Inconvenient, I know but satisfying! :whistling:

This voucher isnt quite a voucher?Eh? How does that work?

guess because you have to pay for it by buying the star rather than a voucher code

a good deal will get the paper tomorrow. Thanks

I have been in my local Tesco this morning for a paper and asked customer services if the coupon would be honoured in store as per their policy and they tried to scan it, then said if it desn't scan through the system then they are unable to accept it. I wasn't buying anything that came to more than a few pence so didn't push the subject.

If anyone has a link to the policy details on the tesco website it migh tbe helpful.

the coupons from other supermarkets dont scan they enter them manually.
they have an 'other coupon' button they press on the touch screen which then lets them manually enter the value of any voucher
just try them again, they are not the brightest but usually someone is there that knows how to do their jobs.
when customer services (maybe all not sure) people log on to their till they get alerts such as 'accepting lidl vouchers in x paper' as woman told my missus last time she used a voucher it came up on screen for her.

Yes apparently it won't scan cause...........................you guessed it, it's a Lidl voucher.

Ask staff to input as non scanned voucher. They should accept it ok.

Got Wii sports resort for £28 recently and another motion plus with some vino for £25 under the Daily Star Lidl voucher at Tesco.

I tesco'd my lidl voucher today and got told 'no we only take sainsburys' which i knew to be bullsheet as i had used the morrisons ones a few monthes ago

I told them io had spoken to Head office who confirmed any supermarket voucher is acceptable

The cashier and supervisor did not look happy but i got my £5. Even better my friend behind me produced the exact same voucher.

"STAND YOUR GROUND - SAVE FIVE POUND STAND YOUR GROUND - SAVE FIVE POUND,STAND YOUR GROUND - SAVE FIVE POUND ":-D

I used the voucher today in Tesco fine. Before this thread I had no idea that you could use a different stores voucher. When handing it over, I was greeted with a "this is a Lidl voucher" remark. I politely said that Tesco accepts them and that they needed to be entered as 'other voucher'. Consumer knowledge eh?
