Thanks - time to stock up before the huge rise coming in April. Just make sure the stamps say 1st or 2nd and not a value.

First and second class stamps have never had a value on for years and years and years so no need to be sure to check this!

I bought a massive batch around 3 years ago when it was 5% off then. Still have some of those stamps today.

I agree that the immediate savings are not huge, but if you buy enough, then the savings over time make me think "I should have got more!!!"

Heat added.

Apparently Royal Mail are going to announce a scheme for cheap stamps for the poor (BBC News-business) today.

DEAL

no 58p large letter?

Surely this is free money as you can pay for things due it having the queens head on it?

Not bad - need to buy enough to make it worthwhile I guess

Since my entire family income is based on shipping 100s of small items on Ebay, this kind of deal is like a pay rise to me, although as I have Costco membership I've already got loads of stamps.

When the price rise is announced and I know what denominations I'll need, I expect to buy 1000s of stamps to offset the cost increase.

2 or 3 pence per item can often be all that it takes to ensure you get the business rather than a competitor.

Not a great deal buster, but every little helps I guess.

You tried delivering something from Lands End to John O Groats for 40p?

5% off isn't the best deal but better than a kick in the balls. You'd have to buy 76 packs to save a tenner.

yeah i have,im a postman

Then considering the amount of previous increases and allowances on your payslip, you won't be doing too badly.

You can spend stamps like cash I believe, so there's a potential profit to be made here.
